Frank Wolf: Obama Won't Help Mideast Christians, Congress Should

The Obama administration has failed at protecting Christians and other religious minorities around the globe from persecution and it's time for Congress to step in and take action, former Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf said Tuesday on Newsmax TV's "America's Forum."

"The Congress passed a bill to set up a special envoy to advocate on this issue for Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East," Wolf said. "The administration signed the bill but has not filled a spot. It's been empty for six months.
"What are they going to do with regard to ISIS? We are not winning," he said, referring to the Islamic State terror group. "We are now actually losing. We are actually losing."

While some prominent religious leaders, including Pope Francis, have spoken out against the rampant persecution taking place, many in the church have remained silent, according to Wolf.
"We need almost a major march on Washington to sort of shake up the political situation," he said. "Every church, every synagogue ought to have a service, a religious freedom service. Anti-Semitism is growing."

It's unreasonable to expect Christian militia groups and nation states, such as the Peshmerga, to take up the fight against ISIS and other like-minded Islamic jihadists alone, Wolf said. He added that those groups are not well armed and some of the men are in their 40s and 50s, while their weaponry is antiquated and they lack the training although they continue to fight.
"We, the United States government, are not aiding the Peshmerga," said Wolf. "The Germans are, the Italians are, the French are, but we are not. There is so much that can be done, but in order to put pressure on this administration and also on the Congress, the church needs to rise up and speak out. This can be solved. We can defeat ISIS."

He characterized the Peshmerga as "the point of the spear against ISIS," pointing out that they have lost more than 1,000 people yet "we are not giving them aid."
Wolf wants Republicans to hold hearings on the issue.

"Bring in some of the people to tell you, bring in some of the very best minds," he said. "We can defeat ISIS, we know how to do it. But if we're not involved, if we're not pulling in airstrikes, if we're not doing a lot of the things" that we should be doing, "we're literally allowing, in some respects, the Iranians to come in and join the Iraqis.

"It's almost crazy but yes, this should be a major issue where hearings are held. But the religious community in the United States has to speak out," Wolf said.
"Speak out against the persecution of Christians, the anti-Semitism. Speak out, speak out, and put pressure on the administration and on the Congress to do something."

My comments: Obama and the Democrats are anti-Christ and are not about to help those they consider to be their Enemies. They would be happy is Christianity were wiped off the face of the earth.
