French authorities claim the attack was “imminent” — a terror attack on at least one church in Paris.

According to an article in USA Today, an Islamic extremist known to French investigators has been arrested with a car full of weapons. But the reason for his arrest might lead some to wonder if providential power could have played a hand in foiling the planned terror attack, especially considering the target was said to be a house of worship.

The suspect, say authorities, was apprehended only because he accidentally shot himself in the leg.

“The man called for an ambulance, and was found bleeding on a pavement in the 13th arrondissement of the city, the Guardian reported. Police followed a trail of blood to his car, where they found the weapons. Several more weapons were found at the suspect’s home.”

The website France 24 botes that the 24-year old suspect, an Algerian national, is also the alleged killer of a young woman, a fitness instructor, in a Paris suburb on Sunday.
