Larry Klayman: Bill, Hillary Could Be Imprisoned for 'Bribery'

If Hillary Clinton sold access to her services as secretary of state through donations to her family's foundation — and it looks like she did — she should be tried, convicted and imprisoned alongside her husband for "out-and-out bribery," Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman told Newsmax TV on Friday.
Klayman, a former federal prosecutor and longtime Clinton nemesis, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" that lawsuits he is filing dovetail with a spate of news articles and a forthcoming book on apparent connections between the Clinton Foundation and business with the State Department.
Story continues below video.

"We have three lawsuits dealing with getting her emails, and a RICO lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida, which gets to the issue of selling access when she was secretary of state to the U.S. government in exchange for contributions to the Clinton Foundation, speaking fees for her and her husband, and possibly the Clinton library," said Klayman.

"This is out-and-out bribery," he said. "It's clear-cut, and it's nothing new. It's something that happened."
Klayman cited an allegation from Peter Schweizer, author of the forthcoming book "Clinton Cash," that while at State, Clinton — now the 2016 Democratic front-runner for president — waived restrictions on doing business with Iran for a Ukrainian businessman, despite economic sanctions meant to curb Iran's suspected nuclear weapons development program.

"That's a direct hit with a lawsuit that we have dealing with obtaining documents concerning those Iranian waivers," he said. "Of course, why did Hillary Clinton waive the ability to do business with Iran? She apparently was making money off of it for the foundation. This is bribery, and it's part of our RICO case, and it's part of another case in Washington."

It's also part of a pattern dating to President Bill Clinton's two terms in office and even farther back to his governorship of Arkansas, according to Klayman.
"As you know, during the Clinton years in the 1990s, when I uncovered the Chinagate scandal, they were selling access to the White House and to U.S. national security for contributions from the communist Chinese right into the Clinton-Gore campaign and the Democratic National Committee," he said.
"They sold everything in the White House, from overnight stays in the Lincoln Bedroom to judgeships to commissionerships to pardons," he said. "I used to joke that Socks the cat, that was their pet at the time, hopefully they didn't sell him to the Chinese."

Klayman argued that there is "very powerful evidence that crimes have been committed — a criminal enterprise going on for a number of years to enrich the Clintons personally and to enrich their foundation," said Klayman.
"This time she's gone too far," he said of the former first lady and U.S. senator who ran for president in 2008 before joining the State Department. "She will not escape, and whether she becomes president or not, she should be convicted and sent to prison along with her husband."

Klayman added that pursuing the Clintons falls to people like himself because Congress, for example, "won't get the job done."

He charged that Rep. Trey Gowdy "has backed off" in his select-committee probe of the deadly 2012 attack on the U.S. embassy compound in Benghazi, Libya.
"He says he doesn't have authority to subpoena anything," said Klayman. "I don't know how that's the case, but apparently the Clintons are intimidating him and Congress as well."
