To hear President Barack Obama tell it, America’s southern border is as secure as a bank vault. But if you heed the testimonies of our Border Patrol agents, who unlike the president have actually been to the border, you soon discover that this is a blatant lie.

In fact, according to Border Patrol Agent Chris Cabrera, who operates in the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Texas, Obama has purposefully been preventing agents from stopping and apprehending groups of 20 or more illegal immigrants — all so that he can keep pretending that the border is secure.

Worse, Obama is punishing those agents who have the courage to actually do their job.

“Agents who repeatedly report groups larger than 20 face retribution,” Cabrera explained to a Senate panel this past Tuesday. “Management will either take them out of the field and assign them to processing detainees at the station or assign them to a fixed position in low volume areas as punishment.”

Cabrera also alleged that Border Patrol agents currently only apprehend 35 to 40 percent of all illegal immigrants who cross into the United States.

“This number is even lower for drug smugglers who are much more adept at eluding capture,” he added (H/TWestern Journalism).

Rather than protect our sovereignty, Obama chooses instead to punish those Border Patrol agents who have the decency to apprehend those who think they deserve free and unadulterated access to our country.

But after six years of this presidency, it’s not like we expected him to suddenly start doing his job anyway.
