PRAYER REQUEST FOR PM NETANYAHU

Avner was among other new enlistees into the Israeli Defense Forces. I am asking you to stop right now and join me in a special prayer for my dear friend of more than 30 years, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his family. Earlier this week his youngest son, Avner, began serving a three-year tour of duty with the Israeli Defense Forces. Mr. Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, took their son to the enlistment site and offered their support and best wishes to him and the other young men and women starting their efforts to defend the Jewish state. Having been wounded himself fighting for his country, and having to make the decision to send troops into harm's way more than once, my friend knows the price of defending Israel and the Jewish people. Thousands of Israelis, young and old alike, have given their lives in this cause. I know the prime minister and his wife would greatly appreciate your prayers for them and, more importantly, for their young son right now. And I am asking you to stand with the people of Israel in another vital way as well. Tomorrow, we will be holding an early Hanukkah party for Holocaust survivors at our beautiful Jerusalem Community Center. This World War II-era bomb shelter was once a dilapidated wreck, but thanks to the love and compassion of our Jerusalem Prayer Team partners, we responded to the request of the mayor of Jerusalem and turned it into a first-class place of peace, refuge, safety and hope. So many of these precious people have never seen an act of love and kindness from a Christian. They believe the lie that Christians hate Jews. But, together, we are working to tell them and show them the truth. Your help today will touch their lives and their hearts. Your gift today will allow us to reach the finish line and bring the great dream of the Friends of Zion Heritage Center to life. And your support will also continue delivering food and other vitally needed help to Holocaust survivors and Jewish children who are living in great poverty.
