THANKS GIVING AND PRAISE TO GOD

Thanksgiving and Praise
By Karen B. White

Recently, as I was rushing around getting ready for church, I remembered Sunday mornings of days gone by when the children were still at home. I cringed when I thought about the Sundays I entered the church building stressed after getting three children, my husband and myself dressed, feed, and to Sunday School on time. Not only was I frazzled, but usually thoughts of what I would feed them for lunch, did I leave the iron or stove on, and I really need to write a few lesson plans were rolling around in my mind distracting me from Him. I definitely was not entering the church building with thanksgiving or praise.

If I had the opportunity to go back and relive those days of taking young children to church, I probably would tape Psalm 100: 4 NKJV “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” on the dashboard of the car and read it all the way to church. So that when we arrived, I would be able to enter the building with thanksgiving and praise to the one who blessed me with my family, placed us in a country where we have the freedom to attend worship services, and who loved me so much that He sent His son to die in my place. Now that is someone who deserves thanksgiving and praise!

Dear Lord, for all the times I entered Your house with an ungrateful attitude, I ask Your forgiveness. May Psalm 100:4 be written on my heart so that every time I enter a place of worship I enter with thanksgiving and praise. In Jesus’s name, amen.
