The Battles Of Life

It's a Battle by - 15 Year Old Koko

"Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today..." Exodus 14:13-14 (AMP)

Sometimes, every day is a real battle. Between your warm covers and the rainy day of appointments and expectations. Between that sandwich at home and the glowing McDonald's sign. Between the thoughts you know are right and the thoughts you know are wrong. Between the mirror and you.

Against fear and worry, anxiety and grief.
Against the principalities, powers, and the darkness of this world. Against what you feel and what you know.

Against the pain. Sometimes, fighting for what you know is right is hard. Sometimes, it can be awfully bruising, not only to the skin - but to the heart.

Sometimes, it seems that every single day develops into a sword-wielding, helmet-crushing battle. Sometimes, it begins that way. Sometimes, it's a struggle that requires every scrap of focus to fight . . . a combat that yields wounds for a while - where we realise how weak we truly are without the One who fights for us.

Simply said, some battles would completely engulf us if we didn't have the One in whom we have victory.

The good news is that we don't fight alone. Jesus walks beside us every step of every day . . . it's just that sometimes, we have to be reminded.

Always, He is there - fighting for you. When the sword is so heavy that you can't hold it high, He takes your hands into His and swings it for you. Always, He is there - fighting for you. You need only to be still. Always, He is there - fighting for you. You shall hold your peace and remain at rest.

The battle is not yours, but God's. Sometimes, every day is a real battle, but . . . We have His armour. We have His Word. We have Him.
