Stop Obama From Taking Over The Internet

Don't let the government restrict your internet. Go here to stop them now
Dear Patriot,

Obama is taking over your Internet - Stop the TakeoverThe federal government has hatched a plan to take over the Internet-and we're running out of time to stop them.

Please sign American Commitment's new petition to the FCC right away, to make sure they stop this unprecedented takeover of the Internet - before it destroys online free enterprise for good.

Plus, if you sign today, we'll also share copies with your U.S. Representative and your Senators - just so they know that their constituents are listening, and ready to fight for Internet freedom.

Using the broad powers of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Washington is planning to put unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats in control of the Internet--which will mean higher prices, less competition, and increased government regulations.

Worse, the federal government is launching a campaign to turn the Internet into a "public utility" just like the local water and power companies you use today.

"Public Utility" means no competition. There are no other companies to turn to. They are in charge and if you don't pay, be prepared to sit alone, thirsty in the dark.

Just imagine what this would mean to your Internet service.

Government bureaucrats could tie the Internet up in red tape, censor content, decide who can use the Internet, how to use it and when and more. If they succeed, it will:
  • End competition between Internet companies to win customers and set pricing.
  • Destroy the engine of innovation that has made the Internet what it is today.
  • Drive out the very risk-taking entrepreneurs that have invested billions to get us this far. And,
  • Erase your Internet freedoms, upend your right to privacy, censor the content you view on Internet, seize control of e-commerce, keep records of the sites you visit and when, track what you read and for how long and so much more!
That's not all.

If the FCC forces your Internet provider to transform itself into a "public utility" get ready for these additional nightmares.
  • Public sector unions going on strike for higher wages, fat benefit packages, platinum health care plans and "Golden Parachute" retirement packages - all at your expense.
  • "Public Interest Regulation" forcing your favorite websites to give "equal time" to political views you find offensive. And;
  • "Nickel and Dime" charges that all monopolies use including fees for service repair, "cost recovery," pay-by-phone penalties and more.
Stop Internet Regulation - sign our petition

If you think these kinds of costs and abuses are unlikely, please take a good look at your latest phone bill. (Or think back to your phone bill in the bad old monopoly days.)

Did you read the "Terms and Conditions" on your bill? What about your phone company's "Privacy Policy"?

And what about all those confusing taxes, fees and other charges that you must pay each month - fees and taxes you don't understand but better pay to keep your phone connected?

Now imagine these terms, privacy policies, fees and taxes on your Internet bill - taxes the government will force you to pay once they are running the show.

All this is coming and more if we fail to cut the legs out from under the government's seemingly harmless plan to "reclassify" the Internet as a "Public Utility."

Right now, we're running out of time to win this fight.

In fact, we're just days away from the end of the FCC's "Public Comment" time period--which means that, unless we show them the American people mean business immediately, the fight to keep the Internet free might be lost forever.

This is why I urge in the strongest terms to sign American Commitment's petition to the FCC today. This is the only way to STOP this unbelievable FCC power grab to gain dictatorial control of the Internet.

With your signature, you will be joining American Commitment's pro-freedom army of liberty activists to shed light on this un-American scheme and stop the government's effort to take over the Internet dead in its tracks.

Our battle cry in this struggle - our motto - is to "Stop Internet Regulation." And I need you on our team, if we're going to keep the Internet free.

Thank you for signing our American Commitment petition to the FCC immediately after you finish reading this message because we cannot win this historic battle against our government any other way.

United in Freedom,

Phil Kerpen, President
American Commitment
