Monday morning:
Throughout the weekend, I've been receiving updates about the humanitarian crisis in northern Iraq from RUN Ministries president Eric Watt. In his first text to Grassfire team members, Eric shared some great news about a dramatic rescue by RUN volunteers:
One night, our teams were searching for Yazidi villagers and found a mass grave of people who had been brutally killed by ISIS terrorists. As they looked closer, RUN volunteers saw that Abu and four other boys were still alive! Carefully and quietly, with God's protection, they were able to rescue these boys.
Eric's second message included an update of the size and scope of RUN's humanitarian outreach:
According to our volunteers' rough estimates, they have helped thousands escape from Iraq into neighboring countries. One hundred families (1,000 people total) are being fed and protected in our first "Community of Hope" refugee camp. Five hundred families (5,000 people total) are in RUN safe houses awaiting shelter, food and water. About 25 new families (250 people total) arrive every day in need of food, water, shelter and protection from ISIS terrorists.
RUN Ministries' volunteers are risking their lives to rescue Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities. They're continuing this difficult, dangerous and lifesaving work despite the deadly threat posed by ISIS terrorists. Can you help?

Eric's network of believers in the Middle East are overwhelmed and exhausted, but they're still working around the clock to provide food, water, shelter and protection to thousands of displaced Iraqi men, women and children. You can take immediate action to help meet the desperate need that exists in northern Iraq. Click here to donate.
RUN is standing in the gap for hundreds of families who have been forced from their homes and lost everything, even loved ones, to ISIS violence in the region. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any amount to RUN Ministries today!
