Seek The Lord While He May Be Found

Search for Me – by Wanda Sewell

“Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6 KJV)

I had just gone into ministry and was caring for a household of thirteen elderly ladies. At that time, I had been walking with the Lord for four years. I had my own room because I was a live-in assistant to the manager. One night, after settling everyone in for the evening, I was in my room when I discovered I’d lost an earring. I didn’t wear much jewelry, so I only had one pair.

I crawled around my room on my hands and knees, feeling every inch of the area where I believed I had dropped it. I kept praying over and over. “O God, please help me find my earring.” After about fifteen minutes, I found it. I was so happy to get it back. Only a few minutes after I retrieved my lost earring, I heard the Lord speak in my heart.

“Search for Me like you did that earring!” I never forgot the lesson that God taught me that evening. We all have a time in our lives where we can seek the Lord’s Face. Let us rise up and do so now, for time may be running short!
