ISIS Continues Committing Atrocities

Relief for Iraqi Believers
August 22, 2014

At a press briefing at the Pentagon, Obama's Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told reporters that ISIS is "an imminent threat to every interest we have, whether it's in Iraq or anywhere else." Hagel also warned yesterday that as a terror group, ISIS is "beyond anything we've seen."

If that's true, then why hasn't President Obama and his administration done more to stop the terror group's months-long march across Iraq. ISIS has killed, kidnapped and raped thousands of Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities, while facing almost no U.S. resistance, intervention or retaliation.

In another disturbing update this morning, RUN Ministries president Eric Watt shared new stories of ISIS atrocities:

Late last night, I got an urgent message that more than 1,000 hostages were trapped in a school in northern Iraq: frightened, hungry and helpless. Earlier in the day, they watched as their daughters and wives were forcibly converted to Islam and sold as slaves to Muslims. All were threatened, and no one knew if they would live another day.

Since the outset of this crisis, our teams have helped many, many families escape to other countries. But now, these passageways have closed. Every day, hundreds upon hundreds sneak past terror in the middle of the night and cry for help.

We continue to see that the risk and danger in this effort is very high. Another of our leaders was killed last night, as he tried to help others find life.

Still, we cannot stop until this evil terror has been defeated. Even as the first "Community of Hope" refugee camp is being built, we're already out of space. Our second refugee camp, which is also "under construction," is also full. We just can't build these camps fast enough to keep up with the huge need that exists! That's why we're continuing our urgent appeals for help.
