In his interviews, Ambassador Bolton offers his analysis of the Berghdahl swap for 5 terrorists detained in Guantanamo Bay, President Obama's West Point Speech, the Administration's leak of the Afghanistan CIA Station Chief. "Personally, you can understand the family's reaction, but the swap is a very bad move at several levels. "First, it demonstrates that the President is clearing the decks in Afghanistan. I think this is a signal to the Taliban that he wants out. He wants out before the end of 2016, and he's not going to let anything like the prohibition or paradigm against negotiating with terrorists stand in his way. "Second, this is a real example of moral equivalency, that five terrorists are exchanged for an American soldier. It's as if the Taliban are the same as an American service member, and since nothing could be further from the truth there, it gives the Taliban a legitimacy that they don't deserve and sends the wrong message to terrorists around the world." Obama's West Point Speech Evaluating Obama's commencement speech "I think the President spent five and a half years of on the job training to come up with a platittude namely that the United STates has an alternative between isolationism on the one hand and war on the other. The President has lived in a world of straw men for so long that when he makes this discoverey and announces it in an improtant speech, the White House [makes it sound] as something new." "It certainly wasn't a commencement speech, I thought the reaction by he  cadets was about a tepid response as you can give to a Comander in Cheif as you can get away with." "I think people looking for the explanation for the 'Obama Doctrine,' which is basically what the White House promised are going to be sorely disapointed because there is simply no explanation." Radical Islam      Pretending the Islamic fury does not exist "For years, there has been a rising tide of Islamic radicalism, starting in the Middle East, providing a hospitable environment in which terrorism grew naturally. This radical wave has been spreading throughout northern Africa, into Asia, and now around the world. "Most immediately threatened, of course, are those who actually live under this extreme, politicized Islam, especially other Muslims. Beyond the radicals' immediate neighborhoods, though, the rest of the world, particularly America, has already suffered direct attack, and could well be the target again. "The United States and those who share our faith in freedom of conscience have several possible options. We can pretend the threat posed by the radical and terrorist Islamic fury doesn't exist, hoping not to experience another Sept. 11, 2001. We can express selective indignation at abuses that offend our sensibilities, treating them as discrete offenses to which we react in an ad hoc fashion. Or we can recognize that a distinctive political ideology is at work here, one based on distorted religious precepts rather than a secular authoritarian philosophy like Nazism or communism." Afghanistan CIA Station Chief Leak      White House releases CIA station chief's name in Afghanistan "It is just jaw-dropping incompetence. When I first read this story, I was speechless. In a White House filled with press flacks that review this material, they put out in connection with President's trip. Was there no one who understood the significance of what they were doing? My comments: The commentary above by Mr. Bolton illustrates the careless nature of Obama in virtually everything he does. His actions leave America at ever greater risk at the hands of her enemies.
