Rise Up Christians, The Godless Want To Silence You

SPEAK YOUR MIND, GET HANDCUFFED

Response Action NetworkA New Hampshire father discovers that his daughter's school has assigned her a book to read which he believes contains disturbing and inappropriate material. He decides to voice his concerns at the local school board's next meeting. The father, understandably, gets a bit emotional during his presentation. The result? School board officials ask him to leave the room . . . and then have him arrested:

"'You are going to arrest me because I violated the two-minute rule . . . I guess you are going to have to arrest me.'"

"Moments later, Baer was escorted outside and placed in handcuffs. According to WMUR-TV, he was charged with disorderly conduct because he did not immediately leave when asked by an officer."

We aren't sure what's worse: local elected officials who arrest taxpayers at the drop of a hat, or a crowd of citizens who don't object when someone's First Amendment rights are so visibly, and chillingly, violated.

REGULATING DRUDGE

Response Action NetworkFederal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman says the day is coming when the federal government will regulate conservative media stars like Matt Drudge just like it regulates political action committees:

"'I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers,' warned Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman in an interview.

"'The right has begun to break the left's media monopoly, particularly through new media outlets like the internet, and I sense that some on the left are starting to rethink the breadth of the media exemption and internet communications,'" he added.

The left is all for defending free speech, dissent and vigorous protest – as long as it fits their agenda and supporters its goals.

THE SEQUESTER DISASTER THAT WASN'T

Response Action NetworkThe federal budget sequester that had official Washington tied in knots for a year or so has been taken off the books. Back when the idea was being debated, we were repeatedly warned that the sequester would impose unending misery, massive job losses and probably put the economy in a ditch. It was all a lie. As Sen. Tom Coburn noted:

"'Despite relentless warnings about the dire consequences of sequestration's budget cuts, it appears sequestration resulted in only one layoff. While that's good news for federal employees and other workers, it is devastating to the credibility of Washington politicians and administration officials who spent months – and millions of dollars – engaging in a coordinated multi-agency cabinet-level public relations campaign to scare the American people. Taxpayers expect us to root our predictions in fact, not ideology and spin. The facts seem to say the experts underestimated sequestration's impact by between 99,999 and 1,599,999 jobs, according to two frequently-cited estimates by Goldman Sachs and the Congressional Budget Office.'

"'Today, I'm sending a letter to the Office of Management and Budget with the hope of soliciting a fact-based explanation for the American people. The American people deserve to know the truth, especially if it suggests politicians' favorite programs can endure far more in budget cuts than sequestration imposed . . . '"

The truly sad thing about all this? Not the blatant lying about federal job cuts. It's that Coburn is retiring from the Senate this year. His integrity and steadfast defense of the American taxpayer be missed.

POLICING FOR PROFIT

Response Action NetworkFor decades, local police departments have participated in what is essentially a Department of Justice revenue sharing program. But this isn't a typical revenue sharing effort. This one centers on asset forfeitures. It works like this: Federal, state or local law enforcement are allowed (some say encouraged) to seize private property suspected of being used for crimes. The seized property is then sold, and federal government splits the proceeds with the local law enforcement agency.

The practice is ripe for abuse and some people are beginning to fight back. But the incentive for law enforcement to "seize first and ask questions later" is powerful. Consider this example from Georgia:

"An investigation conducted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution looked into how funds over a five-year period were spent in Georgia.

"According to the newspaper, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard spent thousands of dollars gleaned from civil forfeitures on pricey dinners and an elaborate home security system for himself. In November 2009, he allegedly paid $800 to rent out a movie theater. Three months later, Howard told his employees they'd have to take 10 furlough days due to budget constraints."

That's not law enforcement. It's an unconstitutional racket that must be stopped.

My comments: As Christians we must realize the the Obama, the Democrats and their allies will use "ANY MEANS" to silence their opposition. Is not America godless enough? Yet, realize the the godless are RUTHLESS and RELENTLESS and will stop at NOTHING until they have COMPLETE CONTROL. The only question is, will we allow this to happen?
