Court Upholds "Under God"

On Friday, May 9, the Massachusetts Supreme Court upheld a lower-court ruling that said including "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance does NOT discriminate against atheists and CAN be recited by students in public school. The case, and another one like it in New Jersey, was filed by the American Humanist Association. The atheist group, and others like it, are part of a very small -- but very vocal -- minority that wants to see all references to God removed from public life. But that's going to be a "hard sell," because a December 2013 Harris Poll found that 74 percent of Americans believe in God.
