(CNSNews.com) – Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who heads the archdiocese of San Francisco where House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) , a Catholic, resides, said that Catholics who are “dissenting from a defined Church teaching” in “a serious way,” must not receive Holy Communion.
Last fall, Cardinal Raymond Burke, the chief justice at the Vatican, said that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi must be denied Communionbecause of her longstanding support for abortion. He also said, “ I fear for Congresswoman Pelosi if she does not come to understand how gravely in error she is.”
Last Thursday, March 27, Rep. Nancy Pelosi was honored by Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, with the Margaret Sanger Award, an honor named for a woman who advocated eugenics and described too many children as “human weeds.”
In his video statement on dissenting Catholics and Communion, obtained exclusively by LifeSite News last week,  Archbishop Cordileone said, “The Church’s teaching on worthiness to receive Communion has been very clear and consistent from literally the very beginning, going all the way back to St. Paul, who writes in 1 Corinthians that anyone who does not receive the Eucharist worthily – that is, if they’re in a state of sin – blasphemes the body and blood of the Lord.”
To receive Communion properly, a Catholic must “regulate one’s life according to what the Church teaches,” said Archbishop Cordileone. “So it’s belief and practice: faith and morals.”

“Anyone who would violate this, whether it’s dissenting from a defined Church teaching -- we know from revelation, Church doctrine -- or living in a way that violates the moral teachings of the Church in a serious way, what we would call mortal sin, are not properly disposed to receive Holy Communion,” said the archbishop.
He added, “As St. Paul teaches, if they dare to approach, knowing they are in such a state of sin, they bring condemnation upon themselves.”
In a press release about the Margaret Sanger Award, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said, “On behalf of Planned Parenthood and the millions of patients we serve each year, it gives me great pleasure to announce that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will receive the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Margaret Sanger Award, our highest recognition of leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement.”
According to its latest annual report, for the year that ended on Sept. 30, 2012, Planned Parenthood did 327,166 abortions.
NARAL Pro-Choice America, formerly known as the National Abortion Rights Action League, gave Congresswoman Pelosi a 100% rating.  (See NARAL 2011 Voting Record.pdf)

My comments: Praise the Lord for the steadfastness of this Archbishop. The reality is that no one who supports Abortion Murder is a Christian and should not pretend to be.
