Oregon 2014 Citizen Initiative - Stop Taxpayer Funding for Abortion

Insider Update | www.Oregon2014.org

Hi Tom,
We've just reached a major milestone: More than 50,000 Oregonians have now signed our petition to stop taxpayer-funded abortion!
But the work is not done yet. Our goal is to gather 150,000 signatures by Mother's Day — May 11. That's just 22 days away. Your participation is needed now.

Our plan for success
First, don't give up. Giving up is the only guaranteed way to fail. We can do this!
Second, I want to challenge you to think locally. Focus on the signature goal in your own community. Did you know you can see exactly how many signatures have been turned in by volunteers in your county so far? You can! It's on our website, www.Oregon2014.org. Just click your county on the Oregon state map.
Third, we need each person reading this email to take personal ownership over the success of this initiative. Don't wait for someone else to do what you are capable of doing. Think about your church, your neighborhood, and your workplace. Have the people in your sphere of influence been given an opportunity to sign our petition?

Simple math
How about this: if each of the 50,000 people who have signed our petition would ask just two more people to sign it, we'd be done tomorrow. Just two signatures each.
Can you get two signatures today? Click here to request petition sheets.

Financial update
So far we've raised and spent about $65,000 to grow awareness (through Facebook, radio ads, highway billboards, etc.), to print and mail tens of thousands of petitions, to train volunteers, and much more. I want you to know $0 has been spent on staff salaries. I'm a volunteer just as much as you are, and happily so. But I also want you to know we spend donations as fast as they come in, and new funding is needed each week to keep the momentum going.
Have you made a financial contribution lately? About $1,700 is still needed to cover our costs of the drive-through Tax Day events. 100% of your donation will go straight into helping this initiative be successful. And every bit helps. Click here to contribute

Passionate sign holders!
I love this photo. You see, it’s not “normal” to spend three hours on a Tuesday afternoon waving signs in downtown Salem, or Portland, or Medford. It’s not “normal” to get involved in a citizen initiative like ours. Normal people don’t do this kind of stuff. But passionate people do.
Thank you for being passionate about changing the future of our state. Let's get this done.
Serving together with you,
