What Is Detestable To God?

What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight. (Luke 16:14)

No servant can serve two masters.

Either he will hate the one and love the other,

Or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.

You cannot serve both God and Money.”

The pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.

He said to them,

'You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men,

But God knows your hearts.

What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.' 

(Luke 16:13-15)

What is it that men value and love?

Every thing that satisfies their flesh,

And of course money can provide these things!

That is what the unredeemed man and woman live for.

They have no concept of Heaven or even Hell for that matter.

All of this is detestable to God.

The whole unredeemed world is an affront to God; it is His enemy,

Because it is ruled by Satan, the “god” of this age;

It is blind to Eternity in Heaven or Hell and consumed by fleshly desires.

We who are redeemed understand, by the grace of God:

'The God who made the world and everything in it

Is the Lord of Heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.

And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything,

Because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

From one man [Adam] He made every nation of men,

That they should inhabit the whole earth

And He determined the times set for them

And the exact places where they should live.

God did this so that men would seek Him and find Him,

Though He is not far from each one of us.

For in Him we live and move and have our being.'

As some of your own people have said, 'We are His offspring.'

Therefore since we are God's offspring,

We should not think that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone—

An image made by man's design and skill.

In the past God overlooked such ignorance,

But now He commands ALL people everywhere to REPENT.

For He has set a Day when He will judge the world with justice

By the man [Christ Jesus] He has appointed.

He has given proof of this to ALL men by raising Him from the dead.'

(Acts 17:24-31)

Today, people, EVERY nation, are blind to the reality of Judgment Day.

They are blinded by the “god” of this age Satan, the ruler of every nation;

Blinded to the reality of Heaven and Hell.

Blinded to the fact that it is God who gives them life and breath;

That in Him alone do they live and move and have their being.

Blinded to the Good News that they can avoid the Hell they are destined for

If they continue to be ruled by Satan and their flesh.

The Church of God was intended by God to be the ALARM BELL!

Christ Jesus sounded the ALARM BELL;

That all who did not believe in Him would die in their sin and go to Hell.

Today, much of the Church of God presents Christ Jesus

As an simply an alternative life style.

Simply a better alternative to other life styles.

This is a LIE of omission! It omits the TRUTH!

Unless a person receives Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord,

They are dead in sin; Dead while they live and destined for Hell.

People need to be told that God finds detestable what they value;

That unless they seek the Kingdom of God above all else 

They will die in their sin.

The whole American Culture, apart from faith in Christ is detestable to God.

Christ is either the whole of your life or none of your life.

You are either for Him or you are against Him. Christ said:

'If anyone would come after Me,

He must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it,

But whoever loses his life for Me and for the Gospel will save it.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words

In this adulterous and sinful generation,

The Son of man will be ashamed of him

When he comes in his Father's Glory with the holy angels.' (Luke 8:34-38)

America today, is a sinful adulterous nation,

Who values what is detestable to God.

Unless America REPENTS of her adultery toward God, it is finished.

Today, the world is raging against God, rushing toward oblivion. (Psalm 2)

America is being ground to powder because of her SIN against God.

Save yourself from this Corrupt Generation! (Acts 2:40)
