The Thin Veneer Of Civilization

It was Edgar Rice Boroughs that spoke of “the thin veneer if civilization.”

He was willing to acknowledge the truth as few are.

Many intellectuals want to extol the virtues of humanity; they are deceived.

Did you realize that the history of humanity can be defined by its wars.

In between these wars mankind pretends it is civilized.

However, it simply begins preparing for the next war.

Why is this?

Because without Christ Jesus mankind is hopeless.

That is the message of the Word of God;

That is why Christ Jesus came, to offer an alternative;

Himself, the Savior, the only Savior, 

To all who turn to Him with all their heart.

There is no other name given among men that can save us. (Acts 4:12)

Christ Jesus is the only alternative to death and hell.

All the sophistication of technology, science, literature, etc.,

Are a simply a pretense of civilization.

The next war is coming as inexorably as the last.

Every major war exceeds the last.

We are at the point today, where the next major war

Has the potential of destroying the planet.

Christ Jesus speaking of The Time Of The END,

Said that if those days had not been shortened, by Him,

No man would remain living. (Matthew 24:22)

No Christian should have any illusion about the condition of the world.

The Word of God makes this clear.

The world is under the control of the Satan,

Who could offer Christ Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. (Matthew 4:8)

Because of this the world is deceived.

All mankind is born with a sin nature

And are deceived by Satan who rules over them.

He masquerades as an “angel of light” which is the deception.

He is a “liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

His sole purpose is to steal, kill and destroy as much of humanity as he can.

(John 10:10)

The world is simply awaiting the next war and the final battle,

The Battle Of Armageddon.

Christ Jesus said:

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars,

But see to it that you are not alarmed.

Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:6-8)

The “Birth Pains” are the announcement of the final battle,

The Battle Of Armageddon.

I believe they are underway at this time.

They are also the announcement of the coming of the son of Satan,

The Antichrist, the Beast of Revelation.

The one who the whole world will worship and receive his “mark.”

Because of this reality, Christ Jesus said:

Be on guard! Be alert! (Matthew 13:33)

What I say to you, I say to everyone: “Watch!” (Matthew 13:37)

I exhort you to find a group of Christians who believe what Christ Jesus said;

Who believe what the Word of God says.

Then you will be able to strengthen each other in the Lord,

And be prepared for what is coming.

You will live your life for Christ and seek His Kingdom above all else.

Then you will be able to live in The Secret Place of the Most High God

And find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)
