Mormons Do Not Believe That Christ Jesus Is God

The first and foremost reason that Mormons are not Christians

Is that they do not believe that Christ Jesus is God.

This belief defies Scripture:

For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given

And the government shall be upon His shoulders.

And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. 

(Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

Christ Jesus speaking to the apostle John said of Himself:

'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God,

'Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.' 

(Revelation 1:8 NIV)

Every Christian must believe that Christ Jesus is God.

Mormons Do Not Believe

That Jesus Died On The Cross For Our Sins

Today, Mormons do not display the cross of Christ in or on their buildings

Because they do not believe the cross has relevance to their faith.

The Scripture says that the message of the cross

Is foolishness to those who are perishing

But the power of God to those who are being saved (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Mormonism denies the blood of Jesus shed on the cross for our sins,

When in fact, we are saved by the blood of Christ Jesus alone.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (Hebrews 9:22)

It took the sinless blood of God in flesh, Christ Jesus, to atone for our sin.

Without faith in this reality there are no Christians.

Mormons Deny Salvation By Grace Alone

They believe in a salvation of works.

Yet the apostle Paul said:

For it is by grace you have been saved, thorough faith—

And this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works,

So that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV)

The Reformation was fought over this principle and reality.

Christians are to do good works but are not saved by those good works.

Mormons Do Not Believe In Hell

Mormons do not believe in hell, yet Christ Jesus said:

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.

Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

(Matthew 10:28 NIV)

Every Christian must believe that Heaven or hell 

Awaits every living person.

Mormons Deny The Virgin Birth Of Christ Jesus

Mormons believe that God in His physical body came down to earth

And physically impregnated Mary.

This defies Scripture that says:

Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife,

Because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,

Because He will save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:20-21 NIV)

The virgin Mary questioned the the angel Gabriel as to how she could give birth:

'How will this be,' Mary asked the angel, 'since I am a virgin?'

The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you,

And the power of the Most High will overshadow you.

So the holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:34-36 NIV)

Every Christian must believe in the virgin birth of Christ Jesus.
