New Wine!

Christ Jesus told this parable:
No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment,
For the patch will pull away form the garment, making the tear worse.
Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins.
If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out
And the wineskins will be ruined.
No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
(Matthew 9:16-17 NIV)

No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment.
If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old,
Making the tear worse.
An no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
If he does, the wine will burst the skins
And both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined.
No, he pours new wine into new wineskins. (Mark 2:21-22 NIV)

No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one.
If he does, he will have torn the new garment,
And the patch from the new will not match the old.
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
If he does, the new wine will burst the skins,
The wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.
No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.
And no one after drinking old wine wants the new,
For he says, 'The old is better.'” (Luke 5:36-39 NIV)

We cannot take from that which is new and attach it on something old.
We cannot take our new faith in Christ Jesus and make it fit our old life.
To do so would ruin the new faith
And would be out of place in the old life.

We cannot take the new wine of the Spirit and put it into our old life.
The new wine of the Spirit must be put into new a new regenerated life;
Then the the new wine will be effective.

If we will not allow the Spirit of God to regenerate us;
To live in and through us;
If we believe we were better off before the new wine came into view;
If believe our traditions and manner of life were better
Before the new wine came into view,
Then we will say the “old wine” is better;
And there is no hope for us.
Old wine” is familiar and undemanding.
New wine requires us to change into the likeness of Christ.

If we are content with “old wine;” religion with form but without Christ,
We are lost and without hope.
The only LIFE there is is the LIFE of Christ which is the “new wine.”

Christ Jesus comes with the new wine of the Spirit, the LIFE of Christ,
That requires we change to accommodate it.
This can only be accomplished by our allowing Christ Jesus
To immerse us in His Spirit
And then allowing the Spirit of God to live in and through us.
Then we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us;
We can do all things by the power of Christ living in and through us.

The Bride of Christ thrives on the “new wine” of the Spirit!
She lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
She has rivers of Living Water flowing from deep within her.
Her LIFE is in Christ.
