URGENT! WORKERS NEEDED FOR A CITY THAT IS TRYING TO TURN TO GOD

URGENT! WORKERS NEEDED FOR A CITY THAT IS TRYING TO TURN TO GOD

by  | Jan 30, 2023 | Faith In Action

URGENT! Workers needed for a city that is trying to turn to God.

You will lead a soul to Christ in this city. There is no doubt about that. On these streets, you will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. I am talking about Bakersfield, California.

We have the proof.

Our workers are there now and their experiences have been startling. Going door to door, they are finding hungry souls, families who weep when we pray with them. Our workers are trained to get people converted—and not just to give them food and clothing.

We have the proof.

But standing in their doorway we find—that though they are poor—they want prayer more than groceries. That is when we see the salvations and the healings.

Bakersfield is trying to turn to God! The call goes out to you and others. Come and help us bring in this massive harvest!

I admit it. I have asked the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and clarity to many who will read this message.

Supernatural soul winning will satisfy the spiritual hunger of those who are seeking more, but who do not know what they seek. It is also the instant cure for boredom, confusion, and division. Especially division.

Luke 5:6-7 says, “And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.” The catch of fish brought the boats together! That is the best unity, a unity based on bringing in the lost.

This is a wise move for Pastors. If their people come as volunteers, they get our excellent training and return to serve with greater zeal and effectiveness.

But the greatest reason I have for exhorting you to volunteer is this: There is a prophetic event in progress along Highway 99 in California. It is awesome to behold. This is indeed a Corridor of Glory! Every time we pitch our tent along this highway, astounding things happen. You can not only be an eyewitness to this prophetic event—you can be a soldier in a great awakening!

Come to Bakersfield, a city that is trying to find God!

There is no way to sell you on what can only come to you when God reveals it to you. I believe that if you make the commitment, God will make a way for you to come.

Come to Bakersfield, a city that is trying to find God! Find out all the details. Use the link below, and register to become a volunteer now!

  • A 2019 California bill went into effect on Jan. 1 to require public colleges and universities to stock abortion pills on campus, which was replicated by Massachusetts and is currently being considered by lawmakers in New York.
  • Pro-life organizations told the Daily Caller News Foundation that these laws are dangerous for female students and that they are continuing to fight for life on college campuses.
  • “California has 150 abortion clinics, taxpayer-funded abortion, and no shortage of abortion access. Mandating that state universities dispense abortion drugs is nothing more than lethal virtue-signaling by California politicians who prioritize delivering a dead baby over a live one,” Mary Rose Short, California Right to Life director, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Lawmakers in blue states across the country are passing laws to require public universities to provide chemical abortions on campus.

A new California law took effect on Jan. 1 requiring all public university health systems in the University of California and California State University systems to stock abortion pills. Massachusetts passed a similar law to ensure students have immediate access to abortion while New York is considering similar measures.

The California law, signed by Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2019, has been used as a blueprint for other states to safeguard on-campus abortion access in wake of the overturn of Roe v. Wade. The law requires all 33 schools in the UC and CSU system to stock “abortion by medication techniques at on-campus student health centers.”

“California has 150 abortion clinics, taxpayer-funded abortion, and no shortage of abortion access. Mandating that state universities dispense abortion drugs is nothing more than lethal virtue-signaling by California politicians who prioritize delivering a dead baby over a live one,” Mary Rose Short, California Right to Life director, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

UC Santa Barbara has written 50 prescriptions for students to receive abortion pills since they were stocked on campus in April 2022, Politico reported.

Have most young Americans been brainwashed to think abortion is actually 'health care' they need?

“I believe abortion is health care, and it’s important to show students that it’s normal and something they should expect and demand,” Kellie DeLozier, an OBGYN at the UCSB health center, told Politico.

Angie MagaƱa, a nurse practitioner at UCSB, told Politico that no one refused to prescribe the pill after staff participated in a workshop to address any concerns.

“We told them: This is just part of the range of services that we provide now and you can leave your personal beliefs at home,” she said. “We said: Really what you’re doing is giving students the safer option. And when we talk about it like that, most people say okay.”

Students for Life of America (SLFA), a national organization dedicated to banning abortion, made educating students about the abortion pill one of its top priorities, Dana Stancavage, SFLA press strategist, told the DCNF. She praised Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas for introducing a bill to defund universities which promote abortion in “SFLAction-inspired legislation called the Protecting Life on College Campus Act.”

“We’re closely monitoring news out of California as we want to see life protected in law and women provided with the full facts of Chemical Abortion which is four times more dangerous than surgical abortion and can lead to injury, infertility, death, and misuse from sexual abusers,” she said.

In Massachusetts, the abortion pill became a required medication available at student health centers after House Bill 5090 was signed into law by former Republican Gov. Charlie Baker in July 2022. The bill requires colleges and universities to adopt a “medication abortion readiness plan” which details how an institution will “provide medication abortions to students or assist students in obtaining medication abortions,” according to its text.

“Following the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs last summer, lawmakers here passed a bill they claimed would expand access to ‘care’ young women need. So while women under 21 cannot legally purchase alcohol, they can ingest pills, given to them by medical professionals, in their dorm rooms, only to deliver their deceased children into dorm toilets hours later,” Myrna Maloney Flynn, president of Massachusetts Citizens for Life (MCFL), told the DCNF.

In response, MCFL installed two billboards along a high-traffic route towards University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School and Worcester State University promoting pro-life ideas.

MCFL also advocated for bill being considered in the legislature that, if passed, would require abortion pill providers to also inform women about the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR).

While not yet law in New York, legislators are looking to make the blue state, already a known abortion sanctuary, the next to require public campuses to provide medication abortion. Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul said in early January she intends to ensure that all State University of New York (SUNY) and City University of New York (CUNY) institutions offer abortion pills on campus or establish a relationship with a local clinic to refer students for abortion services.

“SUNY campuses offer a wide array of medical services for the hundreds of thousands of students in need of medical attention,” Holly Liapis, assistant vice chancellor of communications & press secretary for SUNY, previously told the DCNF. “For students seeking reproductive health care, our campus medical staff offer easy access to services that may include abortion medication, along with referring students to nearby reproductive health providers to provide a full spectrum of services.”

Barnard College, located in New York, announced in October it would stock abortion pills on campus by the fall 2023 semester.

“Barnard applies a reproductive justice and gender-affirming framework to all of its student health and well-being services, and particularly to reproductive healthcare,” Barnard said in a statement provided to the DCNF. “In the post-Roe context, we are bolstering these services.”

Other institutions, including most recently George Washington University, install vending machines where students can quickly access Plan B.

Ohio State University Undergraduate Student Government handed out free Plan B to students on Jan. 25, according to an Instagram post. Pro-life students reportedly protested the event and held signs warning attendees that Plan B “can end a human life” and advertising pro-life resources.

UCSB, Barnard College, Hochul, GWU, OSU and OSU USG did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment. DeLozier and MagaƱa could not be contacted for comment.

A suicide bombing at a mosque in a Peshawar, Pakistan, police facility Monday killed at least 34 people and wounded 150, according to the Associated Press.

Pakistani Taliban commander Sarbakaf Mohmand claimed responsibility on Twitter for the attack, with the dead victims mostly being police officers, the outlet reported, citing local officials. The bombing occurred as 300 people prayed inside the mosque and others approached, with the building’s roof collapsing as a result.

Mohmand said the attack was revenge for the August killing of Pakistani Taliban leader Omar Khalid Khurasani, who he called Abdul Wali, in Afghanistan, the AP reported. The Pakistani Taliban, or Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, is an ally of the Afghan Taliban.

An anonymous Pakistani security officer told the outlet that Pakistani Taliban leaders located in Afghanistan were orchestrating attacks in Pakistan, regaining operational strength after Pakistani military progress against them.

Surviving police officer Meena Gul reported being inside the mosque when the bomb exploded and hearing cries and screams, unsure how he survived without injury, according to CBS News.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decried the bombing, promising “stern action” against those responsible, according to the AP. He also called for workers in his Pakistan Muslim League to donate blood for surviving victims.

“Terrorists want to create fear by targeting those who perform the duty of defending Pakistan,” Sharif said, CBS News reported. “The entire nation is standing united against the menace of terrorism.”

Franklin Graham Issues Stern Warning: 'Judgment is Coming'

Franklin Graham (Charisma News archives)

Evangelist Franklin Graham delivered powerful remarks before Friday's 50th annual March For Life event, warning "judgment is coming" and urging Christians to "lift up" Jesus' name to reach a lost world.

Graham, who heads the Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, told CBN's Faithwire he's read Scripture and knows where culture is headed.

"I know where we're going," he said. "I've read Revelation. I know what's getting ready to happen to this world. Judgment is coming."

Graham continued, "God is going to judge this earth with the rejection of His Son, and there's gonna be a great price to pay."

Thus, the evangelist spoke about the importance of bringing God's hope to a weary world, imploring believers to encourage repentance and a quest for personal forgiveness.

"This is the time for people to repent and turn from their sins and believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ," Graham said. "Jesus said, 'I'm the way, the truth [and the] life. No man comes to the Father, but by me.' There's not multiple ways to God, only one."

Graham encouraged people to "make Christ known" and lift up His name, helping those who don't know Jesus discover His profound love for them.

"Without Christ, we have no hope," he said.

Further expounding on Revelation, Graham said there will be a great revival at the end of time, with millions coming to know Christ during a time of tribulation. Regardless of future eschatological events, though, the evangelist stressed the task to focus on today.

Minnesota Legislature Passes Bill to Legalize Abortions Up to Birth By 1 Vote

Minnesota Legislature Passes Bill to Legalize Abortions Up to Birth By 1 Vote

By: Paul Stark | Life News, January 28, 2023:

The Minnesota Senate today passed a bill to enshrine in Minnesota law a right to abortion without limits at any time during pregnancy. Senators approved the bill, H.F. 1, by just a one-vote margin, 34-33. Gov. Tim Walz is expected to sign the sweeping measure into law.

“Minnesotans don’t support elective third-trimester abortion. They just don’t. But that’s what this extreme bill entrenches in our state law: the right to abort any baby for any reason at any time up to birth,” said MCCL Co-Executive Director Cathy Blaeser. “Under this bill, even babies who are old enough to live outside the womb and to feel excruciating pain have no protection from lethal violence. The extremism of H.F. 1 puts Minnesota in the same category as just a handful of countries around the world, including North Korea and China.”

H.F. 1, authored by Sen. Jennifer McEwen (DFL-Duluth), would create a “fundamental right” to abortion and require that abortion be allowed for any reason even late in pregnancy, when unborn children are developed enough to feel pain and when the risks of abortion to women increase. The bill would also deny parents the right to know when their minor daughter is subjected to abortion.

“The lack of parental involvement allows the most heinous of criminals—human and sex traffickers—to hide behind the doors of the unlicensed, uninspected abortion facility,” said Blaeser. “These traffickers are happily watching this legislature advance extreme, unfettered abortion bills that enable them to continue to traffic their victims.”

Many amendments that would have made H.F. 1 less extreme were voted down or thwarted. The defeated amendments included ones to protect unborn children in the third trimester (with exceptions), to protect against the barbaric procedure known as partial-birth abortion, to provide the option of anesthesia when unborn children can feel pain, and to protect women’s health by requiring that third-trimester abortions take place in a hospital.

Additional abortion-expanding bills have also been introduced at the Capitol. One bill, H.F. 91/S.F. 70, would repeal numerous abortion-related laws, including a law protecting newborns who survive abortion.

Top One Percent of U.S. Taxpayers Paid Nearly Half of All Income Taxes in 2020

Top One Percent of U.S. Taxpayers Paid Nearly Half of All Income Taxes in 2020

By: Scott Notvell, The NY Sun, January 29, 2023

New data from the IRS show that America’s income tax system remained highly progressive in 2020, with the top one percent of wage earners paying more than 42 percent of all federal income taxes for the year and the top 50 percent paying 97.7 percent of taxes received by the Treasury. The bottom 50 percent paid 2.3 percent of all income taxes.

The data, compiled by analysts by the Tax Foundation, found that Americans across the board in 2020 paid lower tax rates than they did before President Trump’s signature tax reforms in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. More than 157 million tax returns were filed for the 2020 year reporting $12.5 trillion in adjusted gross income. The individual income taxes paid based on those returns totaled $1.7 trillion.

The income reported on 2020’s returns amounted to an increase of $650 million over 2019’s levels, and the taxes paid on that income rose by $129 billion, or eight percent, over the previous year. The average individual tax rate climbed slightly during the year, to 13.63 percent in 2020 compared to 13.29 percent in 2019.

The top one percent of earners, which numbered nearly 1.6 million filers, had adjusted gross incomes of more than $548,000 and paid an average tax rate of 26 percent. The tax rate was eight times the rate faced by the bottom half of taxpayers, who earned less than $42,000 and paid an average tax rate of 3.1 percent. The top one percent paid more than 42 percent of all income taxes paid to the federal government, an amount that is more than everyone in the bottom 90 percent combined.

The share of income taxes paid by that same one percent has risen dramatically over the past 20 years, according to the Tax Foundation. In 2001, the top one percent paid 33.2 percent of all income taxes and the burden on the bottom 50 percent fell to just over 2.3 percent from 4.9 percent 20 years earlier.

The income tax rate paid by those in the top five percent of all taxpayers during 2020, or those earning at least $220,000, averaged 22.4 percent. The average tax rate for those in the top 25 percent, or those who earned at least $85,853, was 17.1 percent.

The report noted that income increased among the top wage earners in 2020 over the previous year and decreased among lower-income earners. The share of adjusted gross income reported by the top one percent increased to 22.2 percent in 2020 from 20.1 percent in 2019; the share reported by the bottom 50 percent fell to 10.2 percent from 14.4 percent during the same period.

The report cautioned, however, that the results for the year were skewed by the pandemic-related relief payments and related unemployment benefits paid out during the year. “The income dip for the bottom half of taxpayers combined with the tax credit boost unavailable to higher-income households led to lower average tax rates at the bottom and a greater share of taxes borne by households at the top, compared to a typical year,” the report said.

Last year, the Congressional Budget Office reported that federal tax receipts have ballooned since the pandemic began in 2020 and Americans were on track to pay a record $5 trillion in taxes in fiscal 2022 — part of which can be attributed to inflation rates that are running the highest they have been since the early 1980s.

The total was the most taxpayers have paid as a percentage of the national gross domestic product since World War Two. Total taxes paid were up 23 percent, or more than $1 trillion, above what was paid during fiscal 2021. The last time federal tax receipts were at this level was in 2000, at the height of the dot-com bubble, when the percentage amounted to 20 percent.

Lopsided Christians

LISTEN

“And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

—1 John 3:3

I’ve met people who have an impressive knowledge of the Bible, know Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, and have a vast knowledge of history. They dazzle you with what they know. But their personal life is in shambles.

They can’t keep a marriage together. They can’t live right before God. And they’re always falling into sin and different troubles. The problem is they’re imbalanced. They have the knowledge. They have the doctrine. And if you were to sit down and talk with them, they would know far more than you may know. But their life is out of balance.

I’ve seen this sometimes with people who love to study Bible prophecy. It’s almost like a hobby for them. Understand, I’m a firm believer in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. I believe the rapture of the church could happen at any time. But some people, in their zeal to see Bible prophecy fulfilled, jump to conclusions.

With that said, there are Christians who are lopsided in another way. They don’t know much doctrinally or what the Bible teaches on certain subjects, but they’re passionate about their faith in Jesus Christ. You might hear them say things like, “Let’s not quibble over doctrine. I just love Jesus.”

That sounds nice, but it’s a dangerous statement. The Bible clearly teaches that in the last days there will be false Christs, false gospels, and even false miracles. If we’re not careful, we might end up loving the wrong Jesus. We might end up believing the wrong gospel. That is where doctrine comes in.

We need the balance of having both areas working together.

The Bible tells us, “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 3:3 NKJV).

We can have an understanding and belief in prophecy and facts and figures. But if it isn’t affecting the way we’re living, then we’re missing the point.
