A citywide initiative in Mexico City to prescribe ivermectin to COVID-19 patients resulted in a plunge in hospitalizations and deaths, two studies found.

Hospitalizations were down by as much as 76%, according to research by the Mexican Digital Agency for Public Innovation, Mexico's Ministry of Health and the Mexican Social Security Institute, according to a TrialSiteNews report highlighted by LifeSiteNews.

Earlier this month, as WND reported, a significant decrease in cases in India coincided with the national health ministry's promotion of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine treatments.

In Mexico City, after a spike in cases in December, the city's Ministry of Health created a home-treatment kit for residents.

The city's metro population is 22 million.

At the time, the head of the Mexico City Ministry of Health, Oliva López, said told reporters her agency had determined "that there is enough evidence to use in people positive for SARS-CoV-2, even without symptoms, some drugs such as ivermectin and azithromycin."

Beginning Dec. 29, people who tested positive for COVID from an antigen test and who were experiencing at least mild symptoms began receiving one of the government's ivermectin-based treatment kits, TrialSiteNews reported.

The Mexican government then began a study to track the impact of the early treatment of COVID with ivermectin on the city's population.

The study tracked 200,000 people, dividing in two cohorts — those who received ivermectin and those who did not.

Are governments preventing the public from getting treatments that actually help defeat COVID?

Through a phone-call-based monitoring system and hospital data on admissions for COVID-19, the researchers found a reduction of between 52% and 76% in hospitalizations for those who took ivermectin compared to those who did not.

The government's findings were corroborated by Dr. Juan J. Chamie-Quintero, a senior data analyst at private Colombian university EAFIT.

He found that excess deaths in the city dropped sharply only a few weeks after the ivermectin treatments began.

Chamie-Quintero also conducted a study in Peru, where the government approved ivermectin as a treatment for the virus in May 2020.

In the 24 Peruvian states that adopted early use of ivermectin treatment, excess deaths plummeted on average by 59% just 30 days after the peak death rate.

And it had dropped 75% after 45 days in those over 60 years old.

'Large, statistically significant reductions in mortality'

Worldwide, more than 50 peer-reviewed studies have shown the effectiveness of ivermectin as a treatment and prophylaxis against COVID-19.

A study by the American Journal of Therapeutics that analyzed 18 randomized controlled treatment trials found ivermectin elicited "large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance" in COVID patients.

The study concluded that “the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.”

In February, a peer-reviewed study found that invermectin reduces coronavirus infections, hospitalizations and deaths by about 75%.

Ivermectin, in more than 30 trials around the world, causes "repeated, consistent, large magnitude improvements in clinical outcomes’ at all stages of the disease," according to the study, which was published in the U.S. journal Frontiers of Pharmacology.

The evidence is so strong, the researchers believe, the anti-parasitic drug should become a standard therapy everywhere, hastening global recovery.

"The data is overwhelming – we are in a pandemic, and this is an incredibly effective way to combat it.

If we use ivermectin widely, our societies can open up," said study co-author Professor Paul Marik, director of emergency and pulmonary care at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

A previous study by Professor Andrew Hill of Liverpool University also found ivermectin cuts death rates by about 75%.

'Inaction in front of mounting evidence'

Dr. Pierre Kory, the chief medical officer of the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance, is known for his congressional testimony about the effectiveness of ivermectin.

In a live Zoom conference May 13, he showed the promising data from various states in India in the two weeks after ivermectin was promoted.

See Kory's presentation:

In a Senate hearing in December, Kory presented evidence that ivermectin prevents infection and saves lives.

"Although we, like many, are extremely encouraged by the apparent successes in developing effective vaccines, we also are dismayed at the near complete absence of guidance and research on effective early, at-home, or preventative treatment options apart from vaccines, a reality we find unconscionable," he said in his statement.

Kory said he and his colleagues are "worried that if our call to action is not followed through, confidence in our health care leaders and agencies will be irreparably tarnished."

"Inaction in front of mounting evidence of safety and effectiveness during a catastrophic pandemic may also compromise widespread vaccination support," he warned.

"We will look back to the impact that actions versus inaction had on the U.S. and the globe two months from now," Kory said.

"If we do nothing, the present trend will continue. History will judge."

Politicization of treatments

Dr. Harvey Risch, a professor of epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health and Yale School of Medicine, is one of many health experts who decry the politicization of COVID-19 treatments such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

"You can hardly believe what anybody says anymore," Risch said in an interview in December with Fox News' Laura Ingraham

"We've lost 300,000 lives in the United States because our government has basic told everyone to go home, stay home, and if you can't breathe, go to the hospital."

That's not a form of treatment, he said, "it's what we call therapeutic nihilism."

He said the federal government, through the FDA, CDC and National Institutes of Health, have misrepresented the benefits of the drugs.

"These are drugs that everywhere else in the world they are being used very effectively," he said.

Risch contends the COVID-19 mortality rate is five times lower in the Third World "because that's all they can afford to do."

"And we're here twiddling our thumbs and telling everyone to stay home.

It's absurd," he said.

I HAVE BEEN CRICIFIED WITH CHRIST

Mark 10:45

May 28, 2021

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Devotional Thoughts

By Gary Wilkerson

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20, ESV).

I could do a ten-year series on how to get involved in ministry and it would have zero effect.

But remembering the cross and what Jesus endured there causes the heart of the servant to spring up within him.

You cannot come to the cross a broken, dirty, worthless sinner and be redeemed, sanctified and loved by our Savior without being changed.

When you come to this cross of Jesus, you realize, “I am crucified with Christ.”

When you live in the power of the crucified Christ, you are incapable of not serving Him.

You don’t have to be asked to be a servant; in fact, nothing can stop you from signing up for ministries.

You will have to carefully schedule your life because serving will just naturally come out of you.

We cannot change by going on a guilt-trip and telling ourselves we just need to try a little harder.

No, we can’t do it by ourselves, but the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus gives us power to lay down our lives for Him and for others. We look around and see that many people are in need — people who are searching for a church that is full of love.

They may have had a horrible week, but when they walk through the doors of the Lord’s church, they must see and feel that there is something different about that place.

Because we have been “crucified with Christ,” our servant-heart can reach others with His love and help them also to be changed.

THE KEY TO FLOURISHING

THE KEY TO FLOURISHING

David Wilkerson (1931-2011)May 28, 2021

I was led to read and study Revelation 9:1-12, the chapter on the locusts.

As I read verse 4 about God’s command to the locusts not to destroy anything green, a thought leaped out at me.

I realized that the key to remaining safe in any time of terror was to “stay green.” David wrote,

“I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever” (Psalm 52:8, NKJV).

The “green” that David refers to here signifies spiritual health. It means to flourish, grow, be fruitful.

David is telling us, “My health comes from trusting God.

I flourish because I turn to him.

My trust in him produces spiritual life in me.”

Here is a glorious truth about the power of staying green.

“Thus says the Lord; Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited” (Jeremiah 17:5-6).

The Lord is warning us, “Don’t trust in man.

If you put your faith in human power rather than in me, you’ll be cursed.”

The passage goes on, though, to describe what our faith will produce if we put our trust in the Lord.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

As we trust wholly in the Father, we put down roots in his river, and his divine strength—luscious, green, spiritual health—flows in us and through us.

While everything around us is decaying, we’ll flourish as green trees, healthy and strong.

When the hour of trial comes, we won’t languish or wilt.

Instead, our faith will be growing.

I DON’T LIKE IT

I DON’T LIKE IT

Tammy Ortung

Even after twenty-five years in the military, I never learned to enjoy running.
While it got easier as time went on, I never experienced that “runners high” I’d heard so much about.
I remember silently singing “The Joy of the Lord is my Strength” whenever I was ordered to run long distances.
For me that was anything over two miles—now, it’s significantly less.

At some point in our lives, we all have to do things we don’t necessarily enjoy.
We lovingly care for elderly parents—though it kills us to watch them slowly lose their independence (and sometimes their dignity) as their health declines.
We deal with disrespectful, pesky teenagers—though at times we’d much rather ring their necks.
We have to go to work each day—though we’d much rather sleep in.
We eat healthy and exercise—though we’d rather skip the workout and eat whatever we want… and the list goes on.

As life happens, we need to keep our eyes on God and follow His commands because everything we experience is all part of God’s plan.
We can trust that He will use everything that happens for His glory.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)

What is God calling you to rejoice, pray, and give thanks about today?

It Starts with Us

LISTEN

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”

—James 4:6

Conquered by the Roman Empire, the Jewish people were under Roman control.

And they didn’t like it one bit.

They wanted the Romans out, and they thought Jesus the Messiah would overthrow the power of Rome.

They expected Him to establish His earthly kingdom then and there.

In fact, Luke 19:11 tells us,

“He [Jesus] spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately” (NKJV).

The people failed to understand the prophecies in Scripture, which said that before the Messiah would come and rule the earth, He first would come and die for the sins of the world. Before He would sit on the throne, He would go to the cross.

So Jesus wasn’t coming to overthrow Rome; He was coming to establish His kingdom in human hearts by dying for us on the cross.

This reminds us that when God wants to send a spiritual awakening to a nation, it starts first with His people.

God said, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV).

Notice that God didn’t say, “If the government will humble themselves . . .” or “If Hollywood will humble themselves. . . .” Rather, God said, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves. . . .”

Under George Washington’s leadership during the Revolutionary War, warships displayed flags with an image of a pine tree and the words “An Appeal to Heaven.”

Washington understood that our only hope to become a nation was by the intervention of God.

In the same way, if we want to see God heal our nation today, we need to appeal to Heaven.

Filling the Tank to the Top

By Gary Wilkerson

Years ago, I experienced a severe back injury. I used to do long-distance bike riding; but after the injury, I was unable to move like I had been before.

I gained probably 20-25 pounds. That shocked me a bit, so I started working on getting my health back, exercising and trying to eat right. A serious problem is I hate vegetables.

They’re awful, but I try to eat my greens.

I have another problem too.

Every time I start to lose weight, there’s a number that’s not as low as my original goal, but it’s where I begin to get satisfied.

At first, losing weight is no problem, but then I hit that number like a roadblock.

I can’t seem to get under it, and then my brain starts telling me, “Hey, you’re looking pretty good!”

That last hurdle is the hardest part because I become satisfied with ‘good enough.’

This mentality is so dangerous for us because it leaves us without the fullness of what we desire.

What’s worse, many of us have this in the church.

We get a word on Sunday, or we hear an online sermon that blesses us, or we have lunch with a Christian friend who inspires our heart, and that’s good enough for us.

We’re satisfied.

Do any of you fill your car’s gas tank only three-quarters of the way? Or maybe you only fill it halfway?

Who puts just a quarter of a tank of gas in the car?

The Holy Spirit wants to fill us with life and life abundant, but many of us get a touch of the Spirit, and then we’re satisfied.

We think, “Good enough.”

Let me tell you, half-fillings of the Spirit, yesterday’s fullness and partial measures of outpouring are insufficient in these wicked days. You will be beaten down and defeated.

You will be overrun if you only take half measures.

What God has available for you is far beyond what you’ve ever dreamed, thought or imagined.

The fullness of God is what he is holding for you so that you can truly experience the things of Jesus Christ.

God wants to raise up a generation of his people who are full of his presence, those who will take a stand against the darkness and hear Christ say,

“On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18, ESV).
