Speaking on “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Fox News on Sunday, Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) told nationally syndicated radio talk show host Mark Levin that the media’s
“level of hostility” toward Trump is “beyond anything we’ve ever seen.”
“Well, I think the level of hostility is beyond anything we’ve ever seen,” stated former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. “I think the last study said 92 percent of the news media was hostile to Trump, of the actual coverage, story by story by story. I think if you were openly pro-Trump in The New York Times newsroom they’d fire you, or The Washington Post, they would just fire you. They’d say, ‘Clearly you don’t understand you shouldn't be here.’”
While talking with Levin, Gingrich referenced a Media Research Center piece by NewsBusters’ Rich Noyes that shows “TV’s Trump Coverage Hits 92% Negative.” The recent study was published on Oct. 9 and noted that “[o]ver the summer, the broadcast networks have continued to pound Donald Trump and his team with the most hostile coverage of a President in TV news history – 92 percent ngative, vs. just eight percent positive.”
Below is a transcript of Former Speaker Gingrich and Mark Levin’s comments from the show on Sunday:
Mark Levin: “[A]nd then last week, the president calls himself a nationalist. Now I'm not a nationalist. I'm a constitutional conservative. But I know what he meant by that. He meant Americanism, America first. And they insinuate or flat-out say he's Hitler. He’s comparing himself to Hitler, and that Trump is too foolish, he doesn’t even know he's comparing himself to Hitler. Well, actually, the new nationalism speech was given by Theodore Roosevelt, a progressive – part of their ideology, or at least it was.
“I’m thinking: ‘How in the world do you compare this president to Hitler and Stalin and then take from that that he's a racist.’ He hasn't done anything that suggests that. And so, this is a mantra that they keep pushing, a propaganda that they keep pushing. And then I ask myself, ‘Are they trying to influence the election? They just trying to destroy the man? They trying to remove the man?’ What is your take on this?”
Newt Gingrich: “Well, I think the level of hostility is beyond anything we’ve ever seen. I think the last study said 92 percent of the news media was hostile to Trump, of the actual coverage, story by story by story. I think if you were openly pro-Trump in The New York Times newsroom they’d fire you, or The Washington Post, they would just fire you. They’d say, ‘Clearly you don’t understand you shouldn't be here.’
“Take the example about what Trump was saying about nationalism. Really one of the great magic moments in American history is Benjamin Franklin, who goes to England to represent the colony of Pennsylvania, and after seven years realizes that he will never be accepted as an Englishman. That the aristocracy simply will not accept him. Even though, he was a world-famous scientist and a very wealthy man. And people have said, ‘He left as a British subject. He came back as an American.’ And in a way, this thing about being an American starts there.
“And I think it's important to recognize it, but what Trump is saying, when he uses the word nationalism, isn’t at a level of the federalist, anti-federalist arguments. But it’s saying, ‘Look, these guys on the left want to basically sell our country out for some kind of global cause,’ whether it's the Paris accords or the International Criminal Court or the United Nations.
“You know, I tell people, the reason that John Kerry runs all over the world the way he does and the reason he still sees the Iranians, is that in Kerry's mind, he was never really the American Secretary of State. He was a world Secretary of State, doing good things on behalf of the world. And which is why I don't think you can charge him with the Logan Act because you'd have to be an American in order to be charged with the Logan Act, and Kerry is not psychologically an American. He's psychologically a person of the globe and would regard people who care about America as sort of pygmies, obsolete.”

CARAVAN USED BABIES, WOMEN, ELDERLY AS 'HUMAN SHIELDS'

Guatemalan Official: Caravan Used Babies, Women, Elderly As 'Human Shields'

By Susan Jones | October 31, 2018 | 7:19 AM EDT

(CNSNews.com) - Guatemalan security forces were not able to hold back the thousands of people, many from Honduras, who broke through a chain-link fence into Mexico earlier this month.
Videos posted online show the moment when the border was breached and members of the "caravan" – the first of two -- dashed into Mexico, on their way to the United States.
Why couldn't Guatemalan security forces hold them back? Fox News's Laura Ingraham asked Mario Duarte, the Guatemalan Secretary of Strategic Intelligence, on Tuesday night:

"Central American countries, we have these agreements since 2006 or 2008 that our citizens can freely move between the countries as long as they carry their national I.D. and go through a regular immigration process or a border checkpoints,” Duarte responded.

“Now, these caravans as you have seen from different videos, it was a very, very big group of over 3,000 people. And Guatemalan security forces, let me say really quickly, we put over 2,000 police officers and close to 1,000 military--"
"Yeah, But you couldn't hold them back, Mr. Secretary," Ingraham interrupted.
"We tried very hard, as you could have seen in the videos," Duarte responded. “The issue is that these people put babies, women and the elderly at the front, almost like human shields, so when they started pressing them against our security personnel we had to do all our best to protect their lives,  to protect their human rights and protect their dignity as well," Duarate said.

“With that in there, we always put life first. And we had to protect these people, and obviously that is when the rest of the caravan over passed our security forces.”
President Trump has now sent 5,200 active duty troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to reinforce the 2,092 National Guardsmen and thousands of Border Patrol agents already stationed there.
As the caravans move north, liberal media outlets continue to bash Trump for using what they call scare tactics ahead of the election.
A case in point: CNN's Chris Cuomo told his viewers Tuesday night, "There is no invasion crisis at the border. There is none coming soon. There is a credibility crisis, though, and it's all around us," Cuomo said.

"Facts first," Cuomo continued after a commercial break.
The president wants you to believe we're about to be invaded -- an army of diseased drug dealers and murderers are almost at the door. No more terrorists. The terrorists used to be part of the sell, but it proved to be too foolish to flourish as an idea and so he's taken that part out. The problem is, it is all untrue. These migrants are more than 800 miles away, right now, about a month if you're really healthy and walking really fast all the time. That's the earliest they would be at the border. So you're going to have attrition, OK?. Even if they ran a marathon every day, they wouldn't be here by December.
But that's not what the president is really worried about, all right. This is -- people voting. And that's a whole lot closer, right that's a week away today. The initial monsters in our midst attack had big holes blown in it by us in the media because trump was grossly exaggerating what he knew. And here's the proof, when I say he knows they're not coming, I say that because he knows they're not coming.
His own intelligence clearly tells him they expect a small percentage of the people in the caravan will ever make it to this country. So the monster madness needed some fluffing up and that's where another offer you can't refuse came from.
Cuomo then launched into an attack on Trump's proposal to end birthright citizenship by executive order.
And Cuomo isn't alone:
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow commented Tuesday night on Trump's deployment of U.S. troops to the Mexican border -- "to stop what he is continually calling 'that invasion there,'" she said.
"There is no invasion on the U.S. Border," Maddow continued. "And sending as many troops to the border as are currently in Iraq won't change that. But it turns out when you call it an invasion, when you try to rally everybody about a fear of an invasion, it turns out lots of people across the country have different ideas about what might be a good way to stop that invasion. I mean, what could be too extreme if the country is in fact being invaded by shoeless moms and kids who are a thousand miles away.
"The Fox News channel has now recently started claiming that these invaders are bringing disease, that they specifically have smallpox. That they're coming here to kill us all with smallpox and stuff..."

VP PENCE: 'WE HAVE MORE THAN 1,000 PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO COME INTO OUR COUNTRY EVERY DAY'

VP Pence: 'We Have More Than 1,000 People Attempting to Come Into Our Country Every Day'

By Susan Jones | October 31, 2018 | 9:29 AM EDT

Vice President Pence says Americans are greatly concerned about illegal immigration, not just the current caravans. (Photo: Screen capture/C-SPAN)
(CNSNews.com) - Recent moves by the Trump administration to combat illegal immigration at the Southwest border are not just an election ploy, Vice President Mike Pence told a gathering in Washington hosted by Politico on Tuesday.
Pence said the current caravans are "a source of great concern" for many Americans; and it's not just the caravans, he added:
"The truth is that we have more than 1,000 people attempting to come into our country every day."

"Let's recognize that we have a crisis on our southern border," Pence said when he was asked about President Trump's suggestion that he might try to end birthright citizenship by executive order.
Pence noted that President Trump has been campaigning against illegal immigration since he announced his run for president:
And one of the things the president articulated on the campaign trail two years ago was that we want to look in the broadest way possible about an American law that may be used as a magnet to draw people into our country.
Some of those loopholes are like catch-and-release. Some of those loopholes are in other categories. There are things that human traffickers actually use to entice vulnerable families to make the long and dangerous trip north of the peninsula, often at great risk to themselves, and frankly, birthright citizenship is a part of that.
And what I think the president has made clear is that we are looking at action that would reconsider birthright citizenship. We all know what the 14th Amendment says. We all cherish the language of the 14th Amendment. But the Supreme Court of the United States has never ruled on whether or not the language of the 14th Amendment -- "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" -- applies specifically to people who are in the country illegally, and I think the president's looking at executive action.
Pence said the "broad objective" is to "fix a broken immigration system" that is being exploited by people who entice others to pay money to make the long, difficult journey north.
"We need to have a system where people know how to come into the United States legally," Pence said. He said that system needs to work first and foremost for the American people, as it did for Pence's own grandfather.
"The system is not working today and we've got to reform it," he said.
Caravan concerns 'not' an election ploy
"Is this just an election ploy?" Politico's Anna Palmer asked the vice president.
"Anna, it is not," Pence replied:
The caravan that's making its way north was organized in Honduras, according to what the president of Honduras told me. It was organized by left-wing groups, political organizations within Honduras. It was likely financed in part by Venezuela; and people brought together many vulnerable families, including elderly, families with children, for the purpose of coming up to the border of the United States, to come into our country illegally.
That's the objective here. It was -- whatever the motivation of many people in the caravan, and we happen to know there are people with serious criminal histories in the caravan. We've been told by law enforcement in the region that there are individuals from the Middle East in the caravan. The simple fact is that human traffickers and political leftist organizations in Central America are driving this forward. That started weeks ago.
It is a source of great concern to millions of Americans. I've been traveling, like the president has, all over the country, and I can tell you, being out among the American people, there's great concern, great alarm among many Americans to see this vast throng of people coming up for the express purpose of coming into our country illegally.
And the president is simply determined to make sure that we've got the manpower at the border to provide the support as appropriate to the Border Patrol, to continue to harden our border, to ensure that the people that are applying into our country are doing so through ports of entry and under the color of the law.
President Trump sounded off again on Wednesday morning, writing in five tweets:
-- The World is using our laws to our detriment. They laugh at the Stupidity they see!
--  Harry Reid was right in 1993, before he and the Democrats went insane and started with the Open Borders (which brings massive Crime) “stuff.” Don’t forget the nasty term Anchor Babies. I will keep our Country safe. This case will be settled by the United States Supreme Court!
-- Our military is being mobilized at the Southern Border. Many more troops coming. We will NOT let these Caravans, which are also made up of some very bad thugs and gang members, into the U.S. Our Border is sacred, must come in legally. TURN AROUND!
-- So-called Birthright Citizenship, which costs our Country billions of dollars and is very unfair to our citizens, will be ended one way or the other. It is not covered by the 14th Amendment because of the words “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Many legal scholars agree.....
-- The Caravans are made up of some very tough fighters and people. Fought back hard and viciously against Mexico at Northern Border before breaking through. Mexican soldiers hurt, were unable, or unwilling to stop Caravan. Should stop them before they reach our Border, but won’t!

HOW TO SAVE OUR NATION

ELECTION 2018

HOW TO SAVE OUR NATION

Exclusive: Congressional candidate Art Robinson reaches back to founders for solution

The leftists control the media, and the media consider it their job to control the mob.
At the federal level, we do not yet have direct “democracy,” which is dictionary-defined as total government control by majority vote on any issue – tyranny by the 51 percent.
Historically, all pure democracies have failed. They descend into mob rule because people can often be misled for short periods of time into voting away their neighbor’s fundamental human rights.
At the state and local level, we do have some direct democracy, but the genius of our federal republic is that the 50 states compete with one another. When one state errs, Americans are free to patronize and live in another state.
We are endangered now by an “indirect democracy” because federal politicians, rather than following the rules of our constitutional republic, instead sell themselves to the voters as proxy votes for anything they think will get them elected. T
They even refer to our nation as a “democracy” instead of a constitutional republic. During his years in Congress, Dr. Ron Paul became known as “Dr. No” because he would not vote for anything that violated our Constitution – which included many of the votes.
In running for Congress against 16-term U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio in Oregon District 4, I have been up against a career politician who tells one group he will “get them some money” by taking property away from a second group.
Then, when speaking to the second group, he promises to “get them some money” by taking it away from the first group.
He promises liberty to one group, by taking liberty from another group. He even promises “better lives” for one group by promising to use federal tax money to take life away from another group – living, but not-yet-born Americans.
Our nation’s founders knew that this time would come – a time when controllers of the 51 percent (controllers who work through lies, propaganda and fear) would try to take away the lives, liberty, property and other fundamental human rights of the 100 percent.
So, the founders built a constitutional republic with rules and institutions that would not permit this.
We are all now contestants on a large, unprincipled battlefield where the fate of our constitutional republic will be decided.

This is a terrible and evil battlefield – filled with lies, hatred, profanity and runaway dishonesty of all sorts, but we are offered no other.
We must win where we stand.
We have two wonderful defenses at our disposal – “Providence” and “principle.”
Providence has given us this opportunity, and thankfully our Creator has built the needed principles into the best aspects of human nature
Yet, our battles are largely being fought with “pragmatism” – with a view that “anything that works at the moment” is OK.
We may be privileged to win this internal war, but if we put pragmatism over Providence and principle, we will lose in the winning.
For example: DeFazio pragmatically has promised for 30 years that he will fix access problems of our veterans in the VA medical system, but then he deliberately does not do so.
(A simple card providing veterans with free access to any medical provider in our nation would fix the problem.) So, veterans must call his office for help – calls that win DeFazio votes.
DeFazio pragmatically did nothing to preserve forest access for the Southern Oregon lumber industry, so, regardless of having the finest forests of fir timber in the world, our timber industry died.
DeFazio instead got federal money for county governments to replace this tax base, so each election he could say, “If you want that money to keep coming, vote for me.”
Career politicians do not fix problems. They instead seek ways of benefitting from problems. Thus, our nation has many problems.
Yet, regardless of self-serving pragmatism, it is Providence that will decide our fate – and only principled truth will please our Creator – the source of Providence
The greatest educator in American history, Booker T. Washington, taught that education has only one goal.
That goal is to train the human mind to find the truth – in any situation.
We must pray that the minds of the American people are well trained enough in finding the truth, regardless of our decaying educational system, to win this war.
“Providence,” “principle” and “pragmatism” – can our nation balance them?
I believe we can, and I think we will.
I think this because most grass-roots Americans, of all parties and persuasions, are decent, principled people.
Most are people whom our family would be pleased to have in our home for dinner.
Those people should be urged to support candidates who are committed to help our president.
President Trump is not a perfect man – no man is. Yet, he is working to reduce crippling regulations and over-taxation of our people, to end trade restrictions that place our country at a disadvantage and to increase the responsible use of our natural resources.
His work has already greatly improved our national and individual prospects.
The president’s judicial appointments, especially to the Supreme Court, are restoring respect for the rules of our constitutional republic. On these rules our lives and liberty and those of our children and grandchildren depend.
Our president has a strong Judeo-Christian ethic and a sound constitutional ethic, yet he does not wear these things on his sleeve.
He simply says that his job is to put the best interests of our nation’s people first. Our nation depends on these two ethics.
In a recent “forum,” my opponent in Oregon District 4, Peter DeFazio, said that working in Washington is very complicated and that his over 30 years of experience in Congress are needed to get things done.
Yet, the far-left things he has done have damaged our republic and the lives of many Americans.
In fact, to advance his far-left causes, DeFazio co-founded the radical Congressional Progressive Caucus in 1991, along with Maxine Waters, Bernie Sanders, Lane Evans, Thomas Andrews and Ron Dellums, some of the most radical people in Washington.
Washington is not complicated if you have principles and follow the Constitution. DeFazio makes it complicated by his many unethical dealings.
Most Americans viscerally dislike the trash talk, the lies and the unprincipled garbage our enemies are throwing daily at our nation and our president.
Quietly, yet firmly, a coalition is being built – one American at a time – that will answer a definitive “NO” to those who are attempting to destroy our constitutional republic for their own perceived self-interest.
I can feel this coalition building. So can my opponent. While he lays low in this election with even the news outlets he controls mostly silent lest they provoke controversy that will sink him, our support in the parades, fairs and public gatherings that constitute a Southern Oregon political season has risen very greatly.
Trump yard signs that we give away to voters at events along with our own are springing up all over Oregon neighborhoods. The voters are extraordinarily enthusiastic for Trump-Pence yard signs.
Across our nation, Providence, principle and the truth are winning.
It is a great privilege to be alive at this time.

A TIME TO CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD

Actor Jim Caviezel portraying Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ."

BETWEEN THE LINES

A TIME TO CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD

Exclusive: Joseph Farah spotlights key examples in Hebrew, Greek scriptures

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” – Genesis 4:26
Seth is certainly an interesting Bible character.
His name is mentioned only eight times – seven in the Hebrew Scriptures and once in the Greek.
But I suspect it is very significant that he is the one first associated with a time at which “men began to call upon the Lord.” Seth was special as the son who was born to Adam and Eve after Cain killed Abel. It was through Seth’s genealogy that the promised Redeemer would save the world.
Since it is a good thing that God wants us to call upon His name, it probably means we should do it. It probably means we need to do it.
Let me give you some other similar hints we see in Scripture:
  • Genesis 12:8: After being called out of his own pagan country, Abraham built an altar and “called upon the name of the Lord.”
  • Genesis 26:24-25: Isaac did something similar after He was comforted by God by being told “fear not for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.” So, Isaac built an altar and “called upon the name of the Lord.” (More on this one later)
  • Psalm 116:4: David said, “called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.” In fact, he did it three times in that one psalm – one of the reasons David is, no doubt, a man after God’s own heart.
  • Isaiah 48:1: This verse is a little different in that swearing the name of the Lord, or making mention of it “but not in truth, nor in righteousness,” might not be the best idea.
  • Zephaniah 3:9: We hear through the prophet from God that He will one day provide “the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent.” What do you suspect than language might be? Interesting topic.
There are two very powerful and hopeful admonitions in the New Testament:
  • Romans 10:12-13: “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
  • 1 Corinthians 1:2: “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:”
It would seem calling upon the name of the Lord is a good thing to do – so long as it is in truth and righteousness.
Remember, when we do this, we’re calling on the Creator of the universe. It’s not something that should be taken lightly. It’s not something profane, or common. Notice that both Abraham and Isaac built altars before setting about calling on the Lord.
I strongly suspect this form of calling is something more than an inaudible prayer. The Hebrew word, qara, behind these calls means “to call or cry out.” Similarly, the Greek word, epikaloumai, means to call a person by name. By calling out to the Lord we are telling Him we need Him, we are surrendering to Him, we can’t make it without Him. And that is true. We can’t.
Let’s return to Abraham and Isaac again. I think there’s some very significant information provided here that explains both why Isaac was not fearful about his father’s obedient willingness to sacrifice him, and why Abraham himself was willingly obedient to do so.
Recall what God told Isaac in Genesis 26:24-25: “Fear not for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.”
This was a promise to Isaac that he would either not die before having children or that he would, alternatively, be resurrected to life. Meanwhile, Abraham’s faith was so strong, he also likely understood that nothing was beyond an omnipotent, supernatural God who knew what He was doing.
For that reason, James 2:21-24 says: “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.”
In conclusion, let’s return to where we began – with Seth.
After Seth fathered a child, the boy was named Enos. There’s a clue.
The Hebrew name Enos means “frail, mortal man.” Seth was showing recognition of the fall of mankind – his parents and their descendants. I suspect it was a reminder of the state of mankind – and its need to “call out to the Lord.”
By the way, Seth and Enos are not just any father and son duo. After all, we are reminded in the genealogy provided in Luke 3:38: “Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.”
Want to go deeper into the Scriptures? There’s a great, new tool that starts IN THE BEGINNING – where you won’t miss anything. It’s called “The Gospel in Every Book of the Old Testament” by Joseph Farah. Did you know Jesus never preached out of the New Testament – which didn’t yet exist? Maybe the key to understanding is not starting in the back of the book, but in the front. And, yes, it’s one cohesive, integrated, miraculous story from beginning to end with the Good News of the Gospel in every single book. What a way to renew, restore and revitalize your faith with a topical study like this. YOU CAN DO IT!
