Teachers Union Votes to Teach Students at About How to Get Abortions
A proposal to teach British students about pregnancy and abortion may not seem like a bad idea at first.
Students should know how abortions are performed, what the risks are and especially how a developing baby in the womb is destroyed during the procedure.
But that is not what the National Education Union has in mind.
This week, the British teachers union supported a proposal to indoctrinate impressionable young students with “facts” straight from the abortion industry, Breitbart reports.
A number of teachers in the union said they do not see any problem with pushing a pro-abortion agenda on students in their classrooms. Some even said they want to undermine pro-life parents’ authority on the issue, arguing that students may receive “incorrect” information at home.

Speaking at the National Education Union’s (ATL section) annual conference, teacher Helen Porter said pupils do not necessarily benefit from “a balanced and considered debate about abortion”, stating that “what they do need is teachers … who can give them the facts about what is legal and what is available” in terms of termination provision, reports the Times Educational Supplement.Discussing a resolution which claimed girls “still face unacceptable delays, threats of violence and intimidation, inaccurate and misleading information and unequal access to abortion services”, Jennifer Marchant, from the union’s Derby and Derbyshire branch, said educators “need to make sure students have got the best, accurate information possible”.“Many students come from backgrounds where either it is not discussed at home or discussed incorrectly when many students are at home whether through a lack of parental knowledge or whether through a cultural bias,” she told the conference in Liverpool.
Several teachers did speak out against the motion. According to the Christian Institute, teacher Vincent Conyngham of North Yorkshire pointed out just how radical the union’s agenda is.
“This motion is an alignment with a particular liberal ideology that states that abortion should be available on demand, no questions asked,” he said.
Another teacher, Trevor Cope of Devon, said teachers should provide neutral information to students, not a political agenda.
However, the motion did pass, meaning the union will lobby the government to include pro-abortion materials in future education programs.
In the United States, the abortion giant Planned Parenthood already pushes its pro-abortion agenda in hundreds of middle and high schools across the country.
In March, parents of Monrovia, California middle school students expressed outrage after learning that the abortion group was invited to a student health fair without their knowledge.
In February, a North Carolina school board also voted to cancel a Planned Parenthood sex education program for its middle school students after parents raised concerns.
According to a CBS report, the parents said Planned Parenthood’s “Get Real” curriculum “encourages sixth graders to feel ‘comfortable and ready’ for sex.
The petition says the curriculum provides flash cards outlining proper condom usage, for ‘vaginal, oral or anal sex’ and recommends the usage of ‘non-microwavable saran wrap’ as a prophylactic for certain non-reproductive sex acts.”
Similar outrage happened in Michigan in 2017 when parents found out the abortion chain was planning to teach sex education to their children.
And last August, a Pennsylvania school district also rejected a plan to put a Planned Parenthood-run facility inside Reading High School after massive public protests.
