But the media brought much of this on themselves with blatant dishonesty and corruption. Allegations are now treated as facts, while anonymous sources are given free rein to dictate what gets covered and how. It has become clear that “We the People” can no longer trust the news media. Think about the stories that have been foisted on us over the past year.   When we weren't hearing about Russia and "collusion," we were pummeled with stories about chaos in the Trump administration and the president's mental state.  President Trump is regularly accused of being very cozy with "white supremacists" and of saying things he simply did not say. The press was given special rights so that it may serve as a watchdog.  Under President Obama, reporters acted like loveable lapdogs. Now they are a wild pack of snarling, barking, rabid pit bulls. We are at a bizarre point in time where many in the media are actively rooting for the president of the United States to fail. This is simply wrong. But we are also fortunate to be at a point in time where Americans have far more news options than ever before.
