Rev. Graham: LGBT Activists Seek to 'Oppress and Silence' Those Who Believe in Biblical Marriage

Reverend Franklin Graham, citing an incident with a donut shop in Maine, said major cultural, business, and government institutions now fully support the radical agenda of homosexuals and that LGBT activists are using their "newly gained power" to "oppress and silence" those who believe in marriage as defined by Nature and Nature's god: marriage between one man and one woman for life.
In a Dec. 12 post on Facebook, Rev. Graham said, "A doughnut shop in Maine—The Holy Donut—promoted that they wanted to help a needy family with five children for Christmas. That sounds like a caring thing to do."
"But the LGBT community engineered a full-scale social media blitzkrieg to threaten the doughnut shop for working with the Salvation Army, a faith-based charity whom they perceived to support traditional marriage," said Graham.

"This attack is no surprise," he said. "The LGBT activists have the support of Hollywood, rock stars, higher education, big business, much of the judiciary, and many left-wing government officials. Now that LGBT activists have this voice, their newly gained power is used to oppress and silence those who sincerely believe in biblical or traditional marriage."
"Just look at the bakers, florists, videographers, and photographers that have exited the wedding business, experienced death threats, and face public shaming for simply not participating in a gay wedding," said the reverend.
He concluded, "Pray that our country will see through this spiritual blindness, and pray that Christians will have boldness to stand by the Word of God even if jobs, or promotions, or reputations are threatened. Rights of conscience, religious liberty, free expression and obedience to God’s Word are worth it!"
According to the Portland Press Herald, the Holy Donut shop offered free donuts to people who donated gifts and winter clothing to children in need. The shop reached out to the Salvation Army to help identify the children and families that needed assistance. Because of that cooperation, LGBT activists denounced the donut store, threatened a boycott, and criticized the Salvation Army.
Cowed by the threats, the donut shop owners eventually posted on Facebook, “We take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to anyone that we have offended. We are an organization which prides itself on our track record of kindness and acceptance of everyone.”
