** Hallmark Christmas Movies Under Fire for "Lack of Diversity"------------------------------------------------------------

The Hallmark Channel is a throwback to an age when Hollywood produced family-friendly films and love stories that did not involve leather and whips.
The network has earned millions of loyal fans for broadcasting movies that promote the virtues of faith and family — stories that tug at your heartstrings.
“We are a place you can go and feel good,” Bill Abbott, the chief executive of Crown Media, told the Washington Post.
“We intentionally branded ourselves as the happy place. Abbott said. “Hallmark’s tagline is ‘the heart of TV.’”
And viewership has skyrocketed since President Trump promised to make America great again – making Hallmark one of the most-watched cable television networks in the nation.

** Federal Judge Says Government Agency Can Ban Christmas Ads------------------------------------------------------------

A federal judge appointed to the bench by President Obama says the public transit authority in Washington, D.C. has the right to ban religious-themed Christmas advertisements.
The Archdiocese of Washington had filed for an emergency injunction after the Washington Metropolitan Ara Transit Authority rejected a Christmas ad (https://toddstarnes.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e0507c4c1980fd9357fa63803&id=11a0ee4b8c&e=e115d467fe) promoting its annual “Find the Perfect Gift” program.
The advertising banner featured shepherds and sheep walking toward the North Star – along with the words, “Find the perfect gift.”
The transit authority argued that the banner was declined because of a ban on religious-themed advertising.
Their attorneys explained in a court filing that Christmas is actually divided into two components – a religious half and a secular half.
“Advertisements involving secular symbols of the holiday – reindeer, the Yule log, the Christmas trees…address the secular half of Christmas,” the transit authority argued. “Overtly religious ads, like those featuring religious imagery like a scene of shepherds and the Star of Bethlehem…address the religious half of Christmas.” Continue reading at ToddStarnes.com. ** Donut Shop Faces Liberal Fury for Helping Salvation Army------------------------------------------------------------

A popular donut shop in Portland, Maine was forced to apologize to the community after they offended customers by working with the Salvation Army to provide Christmas to a needy family.
The Holy Donut had asked customers to help them with a gift drive for a local family with five children. Those customers who participated received free donuts.
The donut shop reached out to the Salvation Army to find the family in need, the Press-Herald reports. (https://toddstarnes.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e0507c4c1980fd9357fa63803&id=6b409fcafe&e=e115d467fe)
Instead of saluting the donut shop for doing a good deed – an online mob stormed their Facebook page.
