Heaven Is Our Destination Where We Will Be ONE With The Lord Forever

Today, we are in The Season Of The Last Generation. The Birth Pains that Christ Jesus spoke about are currently under way, including natural and unnatural disasters. They will be ever increasing. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. Social, economic and political turmoil will be ever increasing, causing people's hearts to be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life. An apostasy within the Church of God is currently under way. This will all reach a climax with Satan revealing his Antichrist and requiring that everyone worship him; That every one receive his "mark" in order to buy or sell; The new currency of the New World Order, the New Tower of Babel.

Today, it is critical that those who have a heart for God are aware of what God is doing and speaking today. God is opening up His Word like never before in preparation for The Time Of The END. I exhort you to open up your heart and your eyes to see what He is doing and your ears to hear what God is speaking at this time. My prayer is that we will be able to stand before the Son of Man at His appearing, without fault and with great joy. I encourage you to read David Wilkerson's book, America's Last Call at davidwilkersontoday.blogspot.com. Also, Google, Tommy Hicks Prophecy, 1961 for a view of the End Times.

Tom's books include: Called By Christ To Be ONE, The Time Of The END, The Season Of The Last Generation, Worship God In Spirit And In Truth, Daniel And The Time Of The END, and Overcoming The Evil One. To receive Christ Jesus as a child by faith is the highest human achievement.

IDOLATRY, WHAT IS IT?

Idolatry, OK what is it?

I have heard God Almighty say; that idolatry has become, in his eyes, a very troubling matter for those that are of the body of Christ, His children. God first and foremost tells us, through His commandments, the one which address idolatry, and is known as the second commandment, which says: Ex 20:4-6 (Holy Bible, New Living Translation)

4 "You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.

5 You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

6 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.

The most important point I wish to make, is of the second part of the fourth verse, which says: of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. This now broadens the realm of those things that now come into the picture. To put more emphases on what God wants to point out to us, lets look at what is said; from Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, IDOLATRY.

In the New Testament period the term idolatry began to be used as an intellectual concept. Idolatry became not the actual bowing down before a statue but the replacement of God in the mind of the worshiper.

Col 3:5 points in this direction: "Put to death...covetousness, which is idolatry." (See also Eph 5:5.) At this point the modern believer must understand the vicious nature of idolatry. While we may not make or bow down to a statue, we must be constantly on guard that we let nothing come between us and God. As soon as anything does, that thing is an idol.

In addition to material objects such as houses, land, and cars, idols can be people, popular heroes, or those whom we love. Objects of worship can even include things like fame, reputation, hobbies, pride, and deeds done in the name of the Lord. Idolatry is a dangerous and deceitful sin. No wonder prophets preached against it so often and so strongly.

So now you are becoming more aware of what God is saying to us. I like the way that the word speaks to us through the translated in: Eph 5:5-13 from THE MESSAGE BIBLE.

5 You can be sure that using people or religion or things just for what you can get out of them — the usual variations on idolatry — will get you nowhere, and certainly nowhere near the kingdom of Christ, the kingdom of God.

6 Don't let yourselves get taken in by religious smooth talk. God gets furious with people who are full of religious sales talk but want nothing to do with Him.

7 Don't even hang around people like that.

8 You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You're out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it!

9 The good, the right, the true — these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours.

10 Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.

11 Don't waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are.

12 It's a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see.

13 Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.

I want you all to see what I am seeing in these verses: Number One in verse five, using people or religion or things just for what you can get out of them. Number Two in verse six, religious smooth talk, religious sales talk, and want nothing to do with him. For God is plain, as to what we are to do, about those people in verse seven: Don't even hang around people like that.

For if we take God at His word, which we must, then there are going to be a lot of brothers and sisters of the Lord, very lonely on this earth. But then God tells us in verse eight what we once did, but now how we are and must be doing. Verse eight and nine says plainly to us:

8 You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You're out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it!

9 The good, the right, the true — these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours.

10 Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.

I like what God says at the end of verse nine; Get on with it! And verse ten: and then do it.

Now for verse eleven it says that we waste our time on; useless work, mere busywork, and the barren pursuits of darkness. And God says that in these categories, falls such as, excuses like, (well I just can’t do that now), or crutches, such as, having alcohol drinks, or cigarettes for my nerves to relaxes me.

And the most common is, I just have to be doing things, or I need the TV or radio on to comfort me. Or how about the greatest one which is, I need happy hour to unwind after work.

Then there is food, clothing, cars, boats, moves, twittering, texting, and how about facebooking, or games and surfing on the computer, and many other things of possessions. Then there are peoples and animals, that people become attached to.

All of these things can and do become idols in peoples’ lives, when they let them. For God then tells us in verse twelve; It's a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see.

But then God says in verse thirteen; Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.

This should have everyone that reads this, to not want anyone to be looking at them when God does rip their covering off of them, and exposes their deeds and sins to all the world. And that happens more often than not, because of the sinful fruit that God’s children produce.

The world is watching, all that the children of God are doing, if they confess that they are Christians. So as God tells us in the second part of verse eight which says: You're out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around.

So if you are feeling just a little of uneasiness, or anger, or pridefulness, or rage at this word. I would ask that you talk with God, and let Him speak to you, as what He is saying to you.

So if you are living and have any of these idols or others, that God has exposed to you. Then you need to remove them so you will not be living in sin as said in:

Ex 20:5. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

That should have you calling out to God in repentance. Then the promise of God in verse six shows us, just how much God love us, if we obey Him.

It says: But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. So obey and live a life worthy of your calling in God. Amen.
