DAILY FIRE: CEASELESS LIGHT

CEASELESS LIGHT    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4).  DAILY FIRE! I choose to have an open face to the world, so that people may see the glory of God in me.  In Exodus and 2 Corinthians, we learned that the face of Moses shone with the glory of God, but he veiled his face. The reason that he veiled it was not humility (humble as he was)—it was because the glory would fade, and he knew it would be a bad thing if the superstitious people of Israel saw the glory disappearing. They would draw wrong conclusions from the diminishing effect. So he veiled his face altogether so that they would not know whether his face was shining or not whenever God gave him audience.  "But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take the veil off until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever he had been commanded. And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, then Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him." (Exodus 34:34–35)  "Unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away." (2 Corinthians 3:13)  Paul’s point is that the light of God—His glory—in the Christian age does not fade. It is permanent.
