LET HIS WORK BE DISPLAYED
Deepika E. Sagar
John 9:3, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”
Sickness, discontentment, and other trials are a part of a believer’s life.
Why is it that the one who is serving the Lord must go through sufferance? Isn’t God keeping him? Why do many worldwide ministries who are serving the Lord, have financial crunches?
Why is it that some who serve the Lord face social rejections and other trials? Many such questions may arise in the minds of those who see the situation from a distance, but for those who know the Lord, they know He is with them always.
They know that they are poured with His favour.
When the disciples saw the blind beggar on the roadside, they asked Jesus about the sin he or his parents had committed that led to his blindness since birth. But Jesus gave a different perspective, which many fail to see due to their lack of knowledge of God’s love. Jesus said,
“this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”
God is our Father; who has given us this life and all the good things we enjoy in it.
But God also allows sufferings to come so that we learn to lean on Him for everything, always seeking His face.
The moment we drift away from Him we become a target for Satan, which He does not want. He cares for His branches and wants them nourished through the Vine.
Our work is to keep our eyes solely on Him and serve for His kingdom, not placing our thoughts on the troubling circumstances that may come.
In our weakness, His strength is made perfect.
