Have you seen these shows on television where they go into an old house that's thrashed and ugly and they transform it into one of the nicest homes you've ever seen? That's what Jesus does with us!
Our lives are like those beat-up houses: nothing to offer, no potential whatsoever. But God radically changes us, turning a wreck into a masterpiece.
One of those shows which I have really enjoyed watching is called Fixer Upper. Have you seen it? This one stands out from the others because of the interaction between a wonderful couple named Chip and Joanna Gaines. It's real and genuine and you can just see the love between them. They show us, in their own unique way, how a Christian marriage really can work and be productive.
They have written a book where they talk about their life, their show, their marriage, and how their faith in God is what sustains and motivates them. The book is called The Magnolia Story.
Whether you've ever seen the show or not, I think you'll like this book. Get your copy by supporting the work of teaching and evangelism at Harvest Ministries this month. We'll mail it out to you as a thank-you gift for your donation. Here's where you can get it:

Tom, you and I are "fixer uppers"—no doubt about that!—and I'm so grateful for what the Lord has done to transform our lives, aren't you? Let's be part of His mission to radically transform the world through the gospel.
In Christ,
Greg
