'He barely got his work done'

First lady Michelle Obama took her husband to task during remarks to the Real Daytime talk show, saying Barack may be president now, but in his younger years – in his time spent in school and college – he was little more than a "bum" and buffoon.

"Barack fooled around in high school," she said, the Daily Mail reported. "He's said it [himself], he didn't take school seriously. He barely got his work done. He was a bum."

She said Obama didn't take his future seriously until he transferred to Columbia University and entered his second year.

And on that note, she made her point: "It is never too late. The president of the United States screwed around in high school and he still got his act together."
